  1. I’m sure your comment was a worthy one, but you have a distorted view of what constitutes “free speech.” You have no right at all— none– to post something on someone else’s website.

  2. I’m confused by the OP’s recurrent amnesia about the space bar, which seems to flare up at every comma and at the end of every sentence.

  3. Tim’s right, OP. It’s their website, their bandwith and their paper. THEY are the ones with so called “free speech” here, not you OP. If you want to exercise your right to “free speech” start your own news paper or pay for some bandwith to post your comments as you please online. And even then your web host has the power to censor you because you’re just renting space on their server.

Despite what you may think, news media is not a public held entity i.e.: papers are owned by people who put in it whatever they see fit.

  4. Love the inflammatory big brother is watching stuff… We’re all part of the machine!!!!!!! He/she probably thinks that putting their phone number on a job application is an invasion of privacy. Oh wait they wouldn’t have a job… they’re living off the grid!

  5. Get over yourself, buddy. Tim B. is right on. You have no God-given right to post absolutely anything you want on someone else’s website, especially when that site is MODERATED. Look it up. You might learn something.

  6. Pffft. This douche posts on the Herald site ALL THE TIME. The piss poor typing/grammar/English skills gives them away. It’s normal for their comments to lose focus (and subsequently derail completely) within the first few “sentences”.

  7. Life Sucks (that ought to tell you a lot right there) posts on every article int he Herald and it always comes around to the same thing: every issue, no matter whether it is federal, provincial, municipal, or not involving govt at all, is always Harper’s fault. It really is quite delusional. Every crackpot in the province seems to post on the Herald comments sections judging from the inane responses there but this one is by far the most wonky. Too bad, but I can only imagine what you wrote this time that caused it to be deleted by their mods.

  8. kitty,
    This is for your benefit:
    sed -e ‘s/bandwith/storage/g’

and I know I can’t stand many of the frequent posters on the paper’s site. It’s almost as if you can tell the senility of the regular posters… and who the young bucks are that divide every article’s comments right down the line.

  9. At least this particular newspaper moderates comments. Anyone remember the barrage of asshat-ery that used to post on that now defunct “daily” newspaper? Gahhhh.

  10. Yes I frequently read comments on the Herald site and Life Sucks comments on every single story, no matter the topic, with the same rambling, bitter, twisted, juvenile conspiracy-theorist drivel. He is clearly a very, very small-minded old man living in someone’s basement wearing a tinfoil hat. Seriously, go read some of his shit. He’s a total freak.
