It’s hard to believe that a set panel of supposedly educated people would send the children of HRM off to school this morning. The roads were absolutly treacherous ( I know because I traveled in this weather to teach the 4 children that showed up in my class this morning!) I can only hope that your poor decision hasn’t affected the safety of the students and staff of HRSB.

The weather was nasty wasn’t it. Everyone had wet feet and clothes and I had 4 people in my english class this afternoon. It was a slushy rainy snowing windy mess! Halifax since it was plowed wasn’t really that bad but the schools in suburban areas and what not were probally not plowed. I still wish we had a snow day though!
You have got to be kidding. This stuff was nothing compared to other storms – all it took was a little careful driving and a set of winter tires. However, because there are so many impatient morons on the road who drive in such conditions like it was the middle of summer, I can see where such weather may be a problem.
Not everyone drives to work/school. For those of us who had to walk, it was very dangerous since many of the sidewalks outside of the downtown core were not plowed (I’m looking at you, Dartmouth!), forcing us to use the street. Add some of your impatient drivers to that mix and you’ve got a recipe for disaster.
eh, the weather was a bit crappy but the drivers that I saw on my way into town to go to class (University doesn’t get cancelled that easily) and on my way home were alright. Slow speed and winters tires work very well in this weather.
Um, at what point did we lose sight of the fact that a) it’s December, and b) we live in Nova Scotia? Seriously, are we going to start cancelling school and sending employees home early every time we get 10 cm of snow? Does anyone else think we’re being wussies?
Yup
