I am an aggressive pedestrian so I get your sense of vulnerable human entitlement and totally share it with you. But I am also a defensive driver who will not cut you off if I can help it.
But with the sunlight waning so early these days, some of you in your warm black coats are pretty hard to see after dark.
Just be more careful, OK? I’ll always stop for you. If I see you in time. No need to rush me because I won’t cut you off. Just be careful out there. You’re just a fragile little bag of bones and wool and I’d hate to accidentally bung you up. —Weenis Vandini

but o.p., just thnk of the fun you miss out on, by not running them over and crunching their bones underneath your vehicle. damn, the sound of popping skulls and bones are fantastic, even more so in the crisp fall and winter air. the sound carries so loverly. and oh yes, the screams of pain and hurt. you just can’t buy that.
Good bitch OB. Tonight is a perfect example, if you’re not wearing something reflective, you’re pretty much invisible. I remember going to work at Stad in the winter, dress in full riggers (because we had to), black uniform with a white hat. At 06:30, we just blended into the shadows and snow banks.
Op, if you feel that you can’t handle the responsibility of not killing the dark dressed dangerously dum, then I suggest that you sell your car, and get a bus pass.
Adjust your driving style to match driving conditions.
Common Sense guys.
If its dark and rainy don’t drive the same speed you would if it were a hot sunny day. Just cause the sign says 50km doesn’t mean you have to drive that fast.
Seems like whenever it rains, pedestrians become invisible to drivers.
Slow down. Look around.
RACIALLY INSENSITIVE?
“You’re just a fragile little bag of bones and wool and I’d hate to accidentally bung you up.” Weenis Vandini
While otherwise entirely laudable, I find Weenis’ post to be in questionable taste in respect to his reference to a “little bag of bones and wool.”
Did the pedestrian have other attributes which might make him difficult to see after dark? What might these be? One can only wonder.
A pleasure as always.
Cheerio!
i think ‘wool’ refers to wool coats.
cuz you know.. people are wearing them… ?
i agree people should adjust their driving styles to conditions. But unless you’re at a complete standstill, you can still do damage to someone who suddenly darts out in front of you. Moving 2km/hr can still sprain an unprotected ankle pretty badly.
If you’re driving defensively and someone dashes out in front of you two inches away there isn’t a fuck of a lot else you can EXPECT to happen.
