What is it with people of Halifax that think it’s “ok” to vandalize cars – especially cars owned by people they don’t even know?!
You don’t know me, nor do you know how hard I have worked to have a nice car.
The funny part is – I don’t drive anything extravagant, yet my car still attracts negative attention.
You may not like to see others owning and maintaining nice things, but this gives you no right to ruin it for them.
I don’t show off, and I just like to keep my car looking nice…for me to enjoy. So the next time you see a car parked at the far end of the parking lot, please don’t park right next to it and kick your door into it. It’s not funny!
All too often, I come back to my car after working all day, and find a big dent in the side (from a door hitting it), a large scratch, a tire intentionally deflated, spit on the windshield, and just recently, the center of a rim stolen! Please stop it! I don’t park my car for you to pick at and take your anger out on and I don’t like spending my paycheck on repairs every month.
Car vandalism is not acceptable and not funny.

At some point I’d ask myself the question “Do I have really bad luck or does someone have it out for me?”My window was smashed and my shit broken in to, last year someone fucked up my windshield with a beer bottle. I’d consider those isolated and spaced far enough apart that its reasonable to assume its just bad luck. You on the other hand have an enemy. Look in to that.
Maybe they keep parking in someone else’s spot :)Could be too that parking a nice clean car at the end of the lot actually sets it up for more attention, rather than less.
I agree with Miles re the clean car drawing the attention… I’ll go a step further and say the nicer the car,,, the higher the risk of abuse…I think sometimes people vandalize other people’s cars because they can’t stand to see someone else have something nice that they can’t have themselves…. jealousy whatever..I have always thought that the kind of people who do this kind of thing, do not own a car, nor have they ever owned a car… As any car owner knows it costs a lot of cash to own and operate a vehicle… Would a car owner who knows this really get any satisfaction from fucking it up for another car owner??? Probably not…A friend of mine lived in a rough area of town and bought a very high end vehicle… His car was almost exclusively and repeatably vandalized, such that he had to sell the vehicle and go back to a owning a beater… No problem after that…Little fuckers… If I ever caught them fucking with my shit… Watch out,,, No mercy…
I’d have to agree with Trevor on this one, you might be alone in this. Having car door dents and scratches are one thing, but for someone to be slashing your tires and spitting on your windshield sound like you have some out to get you and your car. What’d you do?
No no enemies. I went through the same thing myself. I washed my car and took it downtown. When i came back to it, a big glob of garbage was placed on the windshield.Regarding dents and scratches, I avoid parking next to other cars so i usually park in an area where there’s at least 3 empty spots on each side, even if it means having to walk. I come back and guess what, some idiot, out of all the spots in the big fat empty parking lot, decides to park his/her car in the spot next to mine.Sometimes not even having a nice car. I used to own a 92 ford explorer. Let’s say it had some body rust. No fancy rims, just the original factory ones. It was an old MT&T Truck. One evening while parked downtown, someone deflated the 2 rear tires. So really, regardless of what you drive, there are plenty of ignorant jealous people out there that wish they have what you have. As long as the person owns a car, this will never stop happening. Just remove whatever can be stolen from the car and keep it somewhere safe.
