Cant figure it out… why
I happen to wear 2 hearing aids and not a day goes by where I am made to look stupid, laughed at, given the wrong order at Tims, told by cashiers at Sobeys that I have to pay double, whispered or mumbled at and then laughed when I tell the person I have

Excuse me?………….;)
This is absolutely appalling. Your disability should not be the brunt of someone’s sick humour. I would speak to the manager of any establishment that would treat you so shabbily. This sort of behavior makes me ill.
This is terrible. Next time someone does this I say you take a ball peen hammer to their teeth…then you can giggle and laugh behind their back about their new and improved smile.Seriously CFU, those people are douches and I apologize on behalf of all the decent people in this world if you manage to ignore those few random assoles.
I would like to say that personally, I speak quietly all the time. When I’m speaking in a “normal” voice to others, I feel like I am yelling. So while if I knew you had a hearing loss, I would try my best to speak louder, if I didn’t know, I would probably be one of the people whispering to you, without actually realising it.
last couple of years i have noticed my hearing drastically worsen (i know why. for years i have been going to metal/punk shows without ear plugs). now, about half the time i dont hear everything that someone casually adresses to me (i hear it, but not clear enought o understand). and the bitch i have, is that people do not like repeating stuff more than once (and that once usually at the same volume as first time!). so i am stuck ‘what?’ ‘can you repeat please?’ 3, 4, 5 times. this sucks.if someone asks you to repeat something, maybe raise your voice a tiny bit? not to yell or anything..and wear your ear plugs at shows, kids!
It’s a shame to know this kind of thing is happening. A friend of mine has a visual impairment and goes through the same sort of thing. They’ve even been laughed at by their employers when they tried to explain their disability. He’s been fired for issues related to his vision, and it’s unbelievably hard to find work in the first place. I’m sorry you have to go through this, and I hope that maybe one day, people will start being respectful to others.
To those who make fun of the hearing impaired: SHAME ON YOU! You have no heart, no conscience, and most of all, you are idiots. I hope that YOU will lose your hearing before you’re 40 and then YOU will see what it is like! Remember, what goes around will come around.
