To all the people out there adorning Canada Goose jackets. I hope you know how much pain and suffering your 700$ bought. Those jackets use coyote fur which is acquired “humanely”. So no farms just people trapping the coyotes. These poor animals are often left for dead by starvation or dehydration all in the name of your jackets status symbol. The company claims humane animal practices are high on their moral list, this statement makes me shake my head. My point is, all these people who buy these jackets, probably 99% know nothing of where their jackets come from all they know is ” I will be cool if I have one”. So just do two seconds of research before you drop 700$ on pain and suffering. —A coyote

Yeah! Keep those coyotes alive and eating those Cabot Trail tourists!
Another Bitch brought to you by an 18-year-old, privileged, CFA, fe/male, women-studies student… who knows it all.
Long live Zwarte Piet!
I just got a London Fog parka from value village for $40.
What… Halifax… status symbols. How else are students suppose to demonstrate to the professors or floor staff managers that they are from “cream of the crop” blood. I’m not even stretching things here; this is how a city that is socially insane from too high a university populace thinks. You can be poor but it HAS to be because you are a victim…. and really trying…..
I’m pretty sure that Acme Corporation has its R&D department hard at work on coming up with a more humane, albeit overly elaborate way of killing all those coyotes.

OP tell me something.. I agree with you but.. tell me something..
Do you ever wear leather? Do you ever buy goods made in chinese factories? (I’ll help you. Walmart, disney, joe fresh, nike, dollar store to name just a very few.)
Do you shop at superstore or sobeys? Because those stores support factory farming which is about the most horrific thing you can do to animals. And even if you DON’T eat meat, if you shop there, you SUPPORT this carnage. Sobeys and superstore DIRECTLY SUPPORT FACTORY FARMING, EVEN IF YOU DO NOT BUY MEAT.
I just wanted you to be aware of that so I spelled it out very clearly. Twice because hippies usually need shit spelled out at least twice before it starts to sink in.
The difference between all that and buying this jacket is that you don’t buy this jacket EVERY DAMN WEEK like it’s nothing.
Consider YOUR habits before looking down your nose at others, you damn idiot.
Patagonia for moi.
I wouldn’t buy “Canada Goose”. My coat is another brand name (better than Canada Goose) Expedition style (750 down count good for -50) coat. The down is Hutterite Goose down. Gathered only from mature geese (2 yrs old plus) and it is gathered when the geese molt their winter down. The Hutterites keep the geese for years cause young geese have smaller down, older geese down is bigger, more expensive, and more efficient (bigger down means lighter coat and better insulation). Second… “Canada Goose” don’t use goose down… they use duck down from China cause it is cheap. Third… my collar is made of Arctic Wolf. Much nicer than coyote fur and they are killed humanely. A bullet to the head.
Take your PETA ass for a long walk on a short pier. Humans have been using fur, feathers, skins and the meat of animals for millions of years.
Fuck coyotes!!!!
Hello Coyote,
People are employed in the trapping, that is a good thing. Animals are a resource, and should be used.
The more comments I read, the more I feel the human race is one big massive disappointment.
welcome back reg. nope, nothing’s changed
I really tried to save a coyote when I bought my wife her down coat. But unfortunately I couldn’t get one with wolverine or polar bear fur trim. And you try to get ahold of a nice pair of seal skin boots or mittens , & it’s near impossible & me from Northern Cape Breton … & I can’t even get a decent pair of moose skin moccasin’s …. Whole f’in worlds goin’ ta pot by’s an I don’t mean da wacky kind ……. Unfortunately
MY coat is by a better brand. Every night the geese are read a Walt Whitman poem and have an hour of yoga practice. They eat nothing but raisins and they only eat them in the company of an exact scale replica of Rodin’s ‘The Thinker’ lavishly tooled in naff brown plastic. Every piece of down is plucked by the seventh son of a seventh son who is also a virgin. The down is then blessed by a Hassidic Rabbi, and backpacked around Europe by beautiful 18-20 year olds finding themselves. The fur used is human and collected a hair at a time under the beds of dying grandmothers. Philistines.

Oh fuck off with your have you ever questions.. it doesn’t matter if this person has used leather before or bought something made in china.. this person clearly just learned how these coats are made and was upset by it. I would never in my life spend 700 on a coat but I’m still happy I read this. I personally don’t wear fur, but that’s more of a fashion statement than for the Animals. I like leather, I eat animals but I don’t see the need to kill them JUST for a fur coat or JUST for a paid of boots.
Canada Goose saved me from extreme injuries after being hit by a car and flying 20 feet from where I had been standing. Worth every penny invested. It’s a staple garment if you travel in extreme cold temps. Not feeling guilt, the knock offs torture the geese but not Canada authentic garments. As far as I understand there are tons of arguments to be made..it saved me. It was a protective encasement head to lower calf. I got lucky. Still paying for the coat on credit. eek! suck it!
Plus Canadian Geese are tasty.
Humans have been using animals as garments for eons. Fuck off ob
