I have called the corporate call centre six times and all six times I got an ignorant, rude, bored asshole who didn’t give two shits about my concerns. HEY CALL CENTRE AGENTS…FUCK YOU ALL! —Sick of Bureaucracy

We don’t want to talk to you either
-From a call centre agent
so true.
I love the government agents!
Total morons.
I had a beef where, for simplicity, Revenue Canada claimed that A+B=C.
After 18 months(!) I proved that A+B=C was incorrect. The next agent I spoke to said, “But you haven’t proved that B+A=C is incorrect…”
I said “Did you just hear what you said to me”
“Yes I did, sir, but that is what you need to prove.”
I finally ended up in front of the Taxpayer Advocacy board who stated “Of course you are right”
Love me the moron reps!
I had the coolest rep from Revenue Canada! He jokingly called me a “big show off” because of the amount of my refund and was the sweetest little man. He probably got fired for being too nice though :(.
Most centre reps are being paid a shitty wage to do a shitty job and get yelled at. They’re not going to be thrilled all the time. Except Telus reps, they know their shit and are nice! And it’s not always their fault if they can’t help you like in ML’s case. They have a certain script they have to follow and rules and what not. If you contact any higher ups about an issue, you’ll probably get what you want. The criteria for becoming a rep is quite low, so that’s the service you’ll get. A call-centre data collecting place I worked for, you had to be able to type at least 20 words per minute, while typing verbatim what an angry person was rambling about. If they had a little higher standards for who they hire, then they would probably get better service.
microsoft reps are by far the worst.
they used to be good about it but now they are all total tools who constantly give false advice.
It MUST be the hardware!
-uh… no, it was working before I reinstalled so it’s not a hardware issue…
then it must be the settings…
-no, I saved and imported the settings after installing…. got any other random and completely useless ideas there chub-stub?
please call the manufacturer to resolve your issue.
great…. so I’m calling ibm because of a windows problem. makes sense.
HRM reps make $40,000+
I see these losers heading into work in the morning and they look depressed at the start of their day. Can’t imagine what they would be like at the end of a shift. And the funnies part? THEY applied for this sh!t. Nobody dragged their sorry asses off the street and forced them to be call centre employees. Too fucking funny!
A job is a job, Koda. Maybe they’re trying to support a family?? Get off your high horse!
Hate to break it to ya OP, but if it’s a corporate call centre, it’s not bureaucracy. That’s a government thing.
Anyhoo, I hate call centres. I’ve worked at a bank call centre for about a year, and that had to be one of the most stressful jobs I’ve ever had. Sales quotas were insanely high (when I finally made it to a branch, I found how overworked those poor shumcks are for 30K a year, for the benefit of wearing jeans at work).
You want an exercise in frustration? Call Dell customer service. Talk to Steve in India. Seriously.
“Can’t imagine what they would be like at the end of a shift”
To answer your question Koda… We drink, I have an 8 pack in my purse (yes, it’s a REALLY big purse)
i know a lot of people who work in those dismal, miserable places. before i started out on my own venture, i actually even thought of working in one. but from what i saw and knew of them, no fucking way. while some give good wages, most suck so bad. they do have decent benifits though. so the next time you call, consider that it could be you there, listening to the drivel of some idiot asshole on the line. get the point writer.
Isn’t that the biggest scam now in HRM? Get hired at a call centre and quit soon as training is over?
they are the way they are because of you people who constantly bitch and complain. If you don’t like your provider, MOVE ON!!!!
bluenoser, it’s not a scam.. they force the 4 week paid training on any new employee….
so they’re basically asking for it… not that the training would be any treat to deal with either.
it’s pretty much like highschool, the ones i’ve done anyway. it’s a joke and they’re TOTALLY asking for it. plus it’s a good way to make quick rent when you’re otherwise screwed 🙂
I wonder how long you could go bouncing from one to another… before you’d come full circle and have to sell the “I checked the others out but yours was the best so hire me again” line… that would be one easy time…
it’d be interesting to see if any of them would hire you back, i’m sure one of them would, they’re usually pretty desperate for people. i know people who have hit up pretty much everywhere in halifax/dartmouth. not more than once though, that’d be impressive 🙂
I worked in a small call centre here in the valley for a few months (a market research firm, so we’re the ones who call you with the surveys), and it’s not nearly as bad as some people like to imagine it. We fooled around, tried silly accents, joked around, had a good time. I’m in high school so it’s obviously not a career path, but it was a great summer job and I made good money doing relatively nothing.
I wonder what you were calling about … probably something ridiculous or something that is against government policy…oh and by the way…HRM Call Centre Agents make under $40,000 per year not over …get your facts straight.
Nope, $40,000 is the amount they make.
The hourly rate currently set at 21.87 x 35 hours per week, = 39803.40 before massive deductions…basically 40k but not over 40k. You have to be there for a year before getting that rate…otherwise just under 36000. I won’t argue, it’s a really good wage, but they certainly earn it. If you think otherwise do the job for 6 months.
I know that at the call centre in HF with a C, the training is high school for about a month, then you can quit and they don’t give references really, they just verify that you worked there. So yeah, they are asking for it!
File a complaint against the call centre. They will investigate and the person will be reprimanded or better yet, FIRED! Call centre jobs NOT real jobs.
