To the bitch who cut my lock and stole my bike:
I hope you appreciate the terrible gears and lack of a tune-up. You see, it was a brand new birthday present I bought for myself and I hadn’t yet brought it back for a tune-up. I hadn’t ridden a bicycle in two years and was riding this every day, and telling everyone I knew how excited I was, and how glad I was I finally got things together and got myself a bike. I was debating quitting the gym, so I could spend less money and be outside more. I was starting to feel proud about getting in shape again.
My pathetic, un-tuned bicycle isn’t worth enough to get your ass anything of worth. All it’s worth is a little of my money, my happiness, and my mistrust of Haligonians in general. I literally can’t afford another bicycle. As this was my investment in a new job, I’m pretty much screwed.
Thank you, for making this city a meaner place for me.
It’s a brand new blue “700C Everyday Tour Hybrid Bicycle”. My friends and I will be watching for it. —Bikeless

Bike thieves – scum of the earth.
i’ve had 5 bikes stolen including a 800 dollar Rockhopper ( on big sale like 20 yrs ago so now $$$$) and I’ve gotten beater bikes stolen some people will steal anything just scum like UFB said 🙁
That is absolute shit and I’m sorry for you.
If “Bike Again” is still operating (they used to work out of the Bloomfield Centre) they might be able to hook you up with a bike, show you how to tune it up and get you on your merry way all for the low price of whatever you can afford to donate. I’m afraid I don’t have any of the contact info any more, but there was an article on them in the Coast a couple years back…
hot times, summer in the city, they stole your bike, what a goddamn pity.
I really feel for you OP, as I was a recent victim of theft too (computers) and it led me to be cut off from all my family and friends back home. As I am new to Halifax, that’s everyone I’ve ever known in my entire life (pretty much) I couldn’t get in touch with for the past 3 weeks.
I felt violated, was totally inconvenienced, and did lose my sense of desire to be a contributing member of the Halifax community, if such thing exists. I sure don’t think of Halifax as great of a city as I did when I got here. I look at my neighbours in a different way now too, because I no longer can trust them.
I hope you will find it. I really do.
Bike Again is definitely still running. They were doing free bike tune ups at the auction a couple of weeks ago.
Where are you people moving from where there’s no chance of getting your shit robbed if you leave it laying around? Any major city anywhere in the world you run that risk and I wouldn’t judge an entire community on one experience.
Yes I am wondering where these magical places without any crime whatsoever are…
You gotta be careful about places like Bike Again (even though it’s run by the EAC)… There was a place in Toronto that did the same thing and got caught with a bunch of stolen bikes.
What kind of a lock did you have? I have a U-Lock and tend to think those safe, but then again thieves can steal your parts too. It’s best to just purchase an ugly bike under $100, which is a shame.
How do you steal a bike? Maybe Wiki has the answer. Would someone not notice a man/woman with a hacksaw cutting away at a bike lock?
Over TWO pages of Bitches in just one day? Holy fuck, what’s happened to Halifax!
it’s the apocalypse… quick, get in the bomb shelter…
I’ll let ya know how it goes out here.
whatever you do butters…. I mean q….. don’t open the door or you’ll be infected.
