Dear Bus Driver. I know you’re on a schedule and all that but fer cripes sake….can you wait just a second until my ass is seated? I’m a lot older than I used to be and I move a little slower, so sometimes getting to that lone empty seat at the back of the bus takes me a second or two longer than it used to…but then you decide to mash the pedal to the floor and I end up grabbing bars or seat backs or other riders, just to keep my face off the floor! I’ve seen it happen to other folks a lot older than me…and to people with infants…in or out of strollers…and people trying to carry a half dozen grocery bags. I know sometimes your bus is so packed that we have to stand but at least I’m ready for that….when you decide to take off before I’m seated and I’m not aware….well, my friend, that’s bordering on dangerous…. —Upright…for now

Lawsuit.
They aren’t really on a schedule.
If one falls while the bus is in motion never get up from the floor until ambulance attendants arrive and assess the situation. The driver and supervisor may suggest taking a seat but the moment you do they could say they did not think you were injured as you were able to get up on your own and take a seat. Sometimes an injury flares a couple of days after a fall.
I’m now under the impression Halifax Transit can and will never do anything right for its citizens.
If the bus is late, bitch, bitch, bitch. If the bus is on time, bitch, bitch, bitch. If the bus is early, yup, bitch, bitch, bitch.
You’re paying what, 2.25 a ride? I don’t order a McDonalds cheeseburger and complain about the quality compared to a so-called (Halifax is overly infatuated with them) gourmet burger.
It might help to get to the bus stop a little earlier and not be the last person boarding so you have more time. And, if you are the last or only person boarding, I think if you asked the driver politely to wait until you are seated before departing then they would be happy or at least feel obliged to comply. Writing a bitch may make you feel better – but speaking up may actually change the driver’s behaviour!
Valid post. Not every passenger enjoys the same mobility as a 16 year old.
If you’re having mobility issues, you really should be sitting at the front though.
That or open your yap, as the aged are so wont to do.
maybe this’ll cheer you up

well especially when you have to trip over 2 or 3 strollers whose parents park their arses two steps from the door so you have to squeeze by. I thought said strollers are supposed to be folded up on the bus?
