When your profile said Accountant for your occupation, I thought you were accomplished like myself. I’m a CA and I figured having the same career in common was an immediate bonus. When I found out you only work as an admin assistant and do bank deposits and you barely make $25,000 a year, I was quite disappointed. For one thing, that does NOT make you an accountant so essentially you lied on your profile. Another thing, you can’t afford the same things I can afford. I live in a nice house and go on a lot of trips. I need someone who can grow with me, not someone I might have to support. Sorry, there won’t be another meeting. -This Guy Wouldn’t be Single Anymore if there weren’t so many Bullshitters

Hi there you shallow fuck bag, go back to CA where hopefully you’ll move to LA where all the real money makers are. While there i hope you get stabbed by a gang banger and slowly bleed out while he fucks you in the ditch he threw you in.
All the best from Nova Scotia.
The only reason that civilized society tolerates the existence of accountants, is so that other people don’t have to be them. Count your shekels and be eternally grateful there isn’t a bounty on you.
Oh no, someone lied on their profile. Get the firing squad out.
So, you wanted to marry money?
pot calling the kettle black. op, you said you were human.
Sounds like you’re going to be single for a long time, OP.

Seriously we need a ‘best of’ comments feature.
I predict you’ll be single for a very, very long time.
Forever, probably.
I find something really fishy here — why would ANYONE reveal their salary to someone they met online — and from the bitch, I get the feeling they only met once.
How does OB know how much this lady makes?
My guess is that the lady OB is talking about is a bookkeeper for a small organization and does admin assistant duties (which is common in small businesses — people multi-task roles).
Trashing someone because of their job is pretty scummy.
OB sounds like an insufferable twat, TBH. Not wanting to support someone is one thing, but bitching them out because they don’t make as much money as you or because you don’t think they’re as special of a flower as you obviously think you are, OB, is pretty shitty.
I think the initials CA, in this case, stand for COMPLETE ARSEHOLE.
Op,
One thing you need to understand about accountants (registered or not) is that they are very methodical, detail oriented, and very much anal about the details. Which begs the question, how many times have you made it past the first date with said accountants?????
Also, for the record….as someone who falls in the “middle class” salary range….I don’t look for someone to take care or “support” me….I look for someone who can hold their own with me! I have children and have done quite well on my own for a very long time! Good luck Op….You are going to need it!
I was an accounting major but just switched to an IT-based major. I really hate to make generalizations but after three years I learned that the fact is that most accounting students are bland people at best, and the whole CA racket really only suits people like this. They think the all important thing is making into one of the Big 4 to become someone elses bitch for 50 hour work weeks updating spread sheets when you can start off with a CGA designation, work for a smaller company in an interesting sector, get your CA that way and also find your way into a partnership or vice presidency or anything more interesting. Unfortunately this guys attitude does lurk beneath the surface of the students who like to boast about their co-op semester at PWC… though this guy seems to be an extra-special kind of twat.
Don’t worry OP, you will end up with the person you deserve. he-he
If the person is claiming to be a professional accountant and they are not, they need to be reported to the regulating body so a cease and desist letter can be sent. Shameful.
Dr. Love.
Yes, if only she was a professional boring twit like you, instead of an amatuer of Olympic standard.
Nobody likes a boring bean-counter – and a cheap one at that!! Try drilling a hole in a cantelope, OP. It’s a more affordable alternative.
Her profile said accountant for an occupation… She’s a member of the Gold Diggers Union.
Some people simply lack significant ways to reinforce their identities, and turn to their occupations to feel good about themselves.
OP sounds like one.
Dude, you come off like such a loser. “I need someone who can grow with me, not someone I might have to support” should read “I primarily value someone’s finances that can grow with my finances, not someone I might have to use love as a primary motivator with”.

Actually, I sympatize with the poster.
I have met far too many people who think that using a professional title is the same thing as being qualified to do a certain job.
No matter how good a person is at what they do,
–a paralegal is not a lawyer
–a bookkeeper is not an accountant
–a clerk at a health food store is not a pharmacist
–an optician is not an optometrist
–a daycare worker is not a teacher
–a health care aid is not a nurse
Certain titles may only be used by people legally qualified to use them–if non-qualified people use them they are behaving in a deceptive, fraudulent, and illegal manner. Also, qualifying for certain professional designations takes years of difficult study and testing during and after university to become licensed to practice, so it is not appreciated when other people claim that they too have the same qualifications just by using the title.
I don’t think the OP meant to denigrate the person’s job, I think he or she was more irritated that the person seemed to be either deliberately misrepresenting themselves or didn’t even understand why misrepresenting their job title was so offensive.
