To the EFFING company I am leaving soon: I think it might be a human rights issue that you have decided not to pay us for the time we have to use the bathroom. I know that some people abused the 7 minute grace time, but now we feel like we are going to be punished for being off the phone when we have to go to the bathroom between ill managed breaks. Half the time I am holding it in for more than an hour or dehydrating myself at work.

SCREW YOU. You are a company that clears cares more about the bottom line, than the people who make you your damn money.

I hope you lose all your clients because no one will be willing to work for you.

  1. God!!! It’s akward enough doing a number 2 at work as it is..but having your bathroom breaks timed by your employers is the lowest!! No wonder you’re quitting your job. Why don’t they just chain their employees to the desks? ”Gee. Louie’s been in the toilet for 6 minutes now. If he’s pooping, well…he’d better be done for the day, unless he can produce the next one in under a minute…otherwise he’s getting written up!!’

  2. JACSR, this is a border-line human rights issue. You would not have much of a case in court because your company is not obligated to pay you for the time you spend on the can. They aren’t limiting you to a certain number of bathroom breaks per shift, i.e. one every eight hours. But in a way, they are. Your company is forcing you to choose a bigger paycheck over your health (even though the pay difference can’t be that much). This is definitely part of a larger issue, one that Wal-Mart has paid for in the past, along with other large companies. If you are interested in being interviewed about this topic, please hit me back.

  3. I agree NMH but my suggestion is to have them come into the stall with ya when you got the trots! After that they won’t want to time your bathroom break 😛
