Jenn Grant’s new album Honeymoon Punch drops today, and along with it comes a new video for her song “Getcha Good”, shot in Grant’s North End hood with some slick dance moves, horns and rainbows. (Keep an eye out for Coast photographer Aaron Mackenzie Fraser going ham on the streets of Maynard and Falkland.) I am a grumpy bastard today but somehow her video broke through my crustiness into the mushy meringue beneath – and I HATE CUTE THINGS. Take a look and you too may smile for just a moment.

In the Dead of Winter line-up announced
i crave avery Another reason to look forward to 2011: the ever-intriguing In the Dead of Winter lineup, now in its sixth year. I have missed C.R. Avery the last few times he’s been in Halifax but luckily he’s being brought back for another round. The festival also features Rae Spoon, Oh Susanna, Mary Gauthier, Snailhouse, Paper Beat Scissors, The Once and many others.
