You know, I get tired of this War of the Sexes shit. It’s an endless cycle of, literally, she-said he-said that will never possibly be settled. So I find such discussions pretty much moot, yet I can’t stop reading the discourse! Today I tripped across something Gloria Steinem of fucking course wrote over on the Huffington Post about what, exactly, the problem is with the term “chick flick.” It’s not that it exists, exactly — though it’s not great — it’s that there’s no pithy, sound-bitey term for shoot-em-up FX shit. (AKA Boy Movies.) I’ve been using “dick flick” for years; Ms.Steinem suggests “prick flick” which is also apt. Click the link and laugh at the commenters who have no clue who she is.
