Nice try with the word forcibly, trying to make it more than what it was. I saw no punching, kicking, hitting from either side. The police took control, without any EXCESS force. They did drag some away but that was due to the person not complying and getting on their feet to walk out. Quite frankly pretty good behavior on both sides. If you don’t move when told to you will be moved.
Another example of how this city has two faces one they portray to public as they bend the truth the other is to look you in the eye and lie to your face with a smile . This city has never change since the days of Wallace !
The Mayor states that camping on public property is not permitted, according to Halifax by-law. Thus, we can fully expect Seaview Park to be cleared of its illegal occupant in the very near future.
Fool – did you or any person you know complain about Mr Carvery living in Seaview ? Obviously someone exercised discretion and left him alone because he was not preventing others from enjoying the park. I don’t think he was stealing electricity unlike the GP crowd. They were also using an outlet in Victoria Park.
I am surprised and disappointed by the negative comments. I support Anonymous. I fully and wholeheartedly support the Occupy movement, at the global level. I hope decision makers in Halifax will begin – someday – to take action on their people’s concerns.
Maybe now the crack smoking HRM or fool-aid drinking HRM will see that the biggest and most dangerous threat to public safety is our mayor, chief of police and the army called HRM police aka gangters in blue…Our premier remains the silent ass that he is while the rights of the public are being gangraped in front of us by Tweedle Dee (Kelly)and Tweedle Dum (Beazley)
As for Carvery he is a liar..he never once occupied Seaview Park his scum brother did and no on did anything because of the race card attached to Irvine Carvery’s nefarious black ass…..
So now more of you are aware, you have no freedom in this country.

As soon as they open their mouths to tell you how much they are ‘concerned for your welfare’…. remember they are actually “concerned for THEIR welfare”… & they don’t give a fuck about you except come vote time, & then just barely.

Our so called elected officials should have another ‘private’ meeting about this & see how they can spin it to being the protestors fault. But for crist’s sakes don’t do it where the ‘public’ can view it…

Higher prices, less & less costing more & more, taxes constantly rising, services constantly deminishing & costing us even if they’re not needed or used & before we know it there’ll be a tax on every breath you have to take, enough is enough.

Here’s an idea, never vote for an incumbent, no matter who.
Every election that happens be sure you vote & make sure its for someone who hasn’t been in office before.
Perhaps if enough of us do this, they’ll all realise they have 1 shot at being in office & they can only screw us for that short period of time, & the UP SIDE IS …we get out of having to pay any more solid gold pensions…hit them where it hurts right in their fucking wallets.

Stop pretending that you have no idea what people want , call Quebec get us better prices on power , protect us from Insurance companies charging what ever they want for coverage. They tried to introduce higher rates for people with tickets in BC , the people went crazy and it was dropped , why does insurance industry get to charge us higher rates for getting a ticket or 2 , it has cost the insurance industry nothing for people getting tickets , but they say your a high risk. ( BULLSHIT ) stupidity causes accidents. People could have 10 speeding tickets but never be in an accident , so why should they pay more. We have monopolies in a lot of industry here in the Maritimes , they need to be put in check. No-one minds a company making a profit but make it reasonable. One irony was the government passing a law that the companies that loan money ( payday loans ) could only charge so much interest , well anyone who has owed the government money knows that they charge enormous interest rates plus fines and penalties. Lastly I love that you pretend you don’t know why voter turn outs are lower and lower all the time , well my communist leaders , when a Prime Minister or Premiere or Mayor dictates to their co-workers their to be silent or to vote a certain way on a bill , or law or else , I fail to connect how that has any concept of DEMOCRACY. If I vote for an MLA in my community why should his boss be able to say I don’t care what your people in your community want you vote this way. Keep taking it all away from us and tax us harder , it will turn and turn hard. A very smart person use to say —– The rich invented work so we wouldn’t kill them ——- Desperate people will do desperate things because survival is a basic instinct.

Halifax has one of the highest homicide rates in the country and our resources are limited . And this a peaceful protest is where our resources are being allocated? There are more important places our police forces attention needs to be focused. When did we lose our voices as concerned citizens? When did it become illegal for us to use anything but a vote to express our concern for what happens in our own hometowns, provinces or countries? Our legitimate paths to lobby for change or implement the most basic catalysts for change have become privately (private business), industrially or party funded often leaving out a large proportion of our communities residents. Our marginalized populations and less well to do citizens have virtually no voice in our policies in this country anymore. The political accountability is removed or brushed aside as these protesters were. Where is the resolution, the acknowledgement, the response? When does the machine stop?

The right to protest is alive and well, the actions of Nov 11 do not affect your charter rights.
The courts have been consistent in cases similar to what happened in Halifax. As has the Supreme Court of Canada. I have referenced the cases in earlier posts or you are free to google it and read the decisions.
Marginalised people have traditionally looked to the NDP for political support and for some strange reason Premier Dexter and his government have been silent on the core issues of the occupiers.
You may want to ask why that is.
It’s harsh to watch, I feel bad for anyone hurt. I think the police were just doing their job, with a crowd that size they have to maintain control. Jesus, that’s some scary stuff though:S
