Last week I was emailing with my friend Jill Barber who was on the road with Stuart McLean and Dan Hill for The Vinyl Cafe tour, which played four sold-out shows in Halifax. I told her that when I was a pre-teen in the country with no access to the things that make you become an indie snob, I loved Hill’s soppy power ballads. “I had no idea,” she said. “I am a huge fan of wuss rock,” I replied. “If you end up opening for Air Supply or Chicago, I’ll be all over you for sidestage access.” Well guess what? Dreams can come true!
Air Supply will play the Halifax Forum on July 7. Opener TBA (Jill, get on that!).
Dudes, with Air Supply and Dennis DeYoung in town this summer, all we need is the Peter Cetera-fronted Chicago and we will have the Wuss Trifecta, the greatest run of shows this town has seen since I know not when.
The beating of my heart is a drum, and it’s lost And it’s looking for a rhythm like you You can take the darkness from the pit of the night And turn into a beacon burning endlessly bright I’ve got to follow it, cause everything I know, well it’s nothing till I give it to you…
