Burrito Jax
For a midnight snack that won’t sit like a brick in the pit of your stomach, grab a quesadilla or burrito
(pictured) made by the masters. Whether chicken, steak, pork or meatless, these Mexican-inspired eats are packed full with fresh veggies, mouth-watering salsas and smashed beans, baby. As long as you don’t overdo it on the heat, there’ll be no early morning heartburn in your future.

European Food Shop
You know how Newfoundlanders make newcomers kiss the cod as a sort of welcome custom? Consider wolfing down a donair the Halifax equivalent. There are countless spots in town that slice up the spinning spit of meat, make it your mission to find one and find out why this messy pita wrap is so legendary.

Flipburger
If your drunk-food-radar is telling you to find a Big Mac, tell it to fuck off. You need not seek out the golden arches, because Flipburger has you covered—covered in cheeses, bacon, sloppy sauces and an ever-changing list of gourmet fixings. On top of quality meat, and creative recipes, you can grab your fries, onion rings, milkshakes and boozy drinks (if you haven’t had enough) here, too.

Mezza Lebanese Kitchen
The middle-of-the-night environment at Mezza is nearly as good as the eats are—pumping music, wobbly dancing and sometimes, if you’re lucky, singing staff members. Grab a chicken shawarma (pictured), a quick slice or a dripping donair to go, or eat in and give those tired feet a rest.

Rocky’s Filipino BBQ
Affectionately called Meat On A Stick by many, Rocky’s pork kebabs are quick, addictive and better devoured in twos. Pro tip: grab a kebab for sustenance for while you wait in another line for more food.

Sicilian Pizzeria
Even though the Home of the Big Slice serves perfectly pillow-sized pieces of pizza, we beg of you: do not fall asleep on yours. Donair sauce drizzle doesn’t make a good night cream. Plant yourself in one of Siiclian’s window seats, front-row centre for people-watching and enjoy your slice while its hot.

Smoke’s Poutinerie
These are risk-taking poutine-makers. Pulled pork, chili cheesesteak, chicken fajita and rainbow poutine decorate this extensive menu, but Quebec curds remain the star of the show and that’s all that really matters.

Subway
The last resort snack of Pizza Corner is one that Jared Fogle would approve of. When (if) that distinctive baking bread smell lures you past the gravy and grilled meats into this chain deli counter for post-boozing snacks, you might as well go big (awful) and hit the processed meats (cold cut trio) and white bread, hard.

Willy’s Fresh Cut
You will never regret the decision to take a Styrofoam box of Willy’s poutine to bed with you. Never. The repeat winner in our Best of Food survey for Best Poutine and Best Late-night Food is known for drawing extremely long lines that are extremely worth waiting in. Add stuffing to that pile of fries and you’ll thank me forever.

Yeh!
It’s a strange choice for late-night Pizza Corner fuel, but do your thing yogurt lovers! Frozen yogurt infiltrated last summer, bringing its DIY dairy bar to the greasy foodscape and offering a chilly alternative to the ooey-gooey surrounding snacks. While it’s still summer, we get the appeal.
(Come December, not so much.)
