Remarks: Haligonians have for decades told themselves that Spring Hill is the world’s only “cemetery with a traffic light”—the light for the Robie/Jubilee intersection sat just inside its fence. We’re skeptical (there are some pretty big cemeteries out there in the world), but we’ve even seen tour buses stop for a lookie, so what do we know? The bureaucrats seem perplexed that anyone should care that they’ve moved it out to the corner, but if we can’t maintain some silly myths about ourselves, what good are we?
Who’s Responsible? Ken Reashor, “traffic authority” for HRM, 490-6637.
