Remarks: The nicely paved asphalt walkways on the perimeter of the Common give you false sense of security to walk across. As you do so, a large mugger jumps out. You run away with confidence you can outpace the bad guy, but whoa! you stumble in the hole, falling to the ground, and then the heavy thug trips in the same hole, landing on top of you. Curses! But worry not: Phelan says it’ll be fixed before spring mugging season.

Great, thank you for your sarcastic reinforcement of everybody’s fears about being mugged on the common. Have lived near the common for 13 years, have walked there almost daily, and guess what? NEVER BEEN MUGGED? know why? don’t do drugs, don’t go walking out there at 2 in the freakin’ morning, either drunk or stoned out of my mind.
