July has plenty of riches, both in our country and across the border. Originally based in Charlottetown, PEI and with a prime location in the Historic Properties (Upper Water Street), COWS Ice Cream was given top drawer status as they recently ranked number one on the World’s Top Ten Places for Ice Cream by Tauck World Discovery in celebration of the United States’ National Ice Cream month.
“COWS is a small PEI company so we are thrilled to be chosen as the best place to enjoy ice cream in the world,” says Joy Gallant, manager of operations. “Since 1983 COWS has been focused on producing high quality, super premium ice cream. In addition, we have an amazing team that works in our stores to create an unforgettable experience for our customers.”
In 2006, COWS was named as the maker of the best ice cream in Canada by Reader’s Digest magazine. The Island owned company has seven stores on PEI and locations in Halifax, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Banff and Whistler. All of the ice cream is made on PEI. Over 32 flavours of ice cream can be found on their menu, including: Gooey Mooey, Wowie Cowie and Moo Crunch.
