Dear Liz Feltham,
I am writing in response to your review of Starr’s Bakery & Cafe (August 24). I enjoy Starr’s on a daily basis and take offense to your comments about their lovely staff. I believe your job is to review the fine fares of a restaurant, not to insult wonderful girls who I guarantee treated you with respect. Owner Chantelle Reid and her staff work their “asses” off everyday, are consistent with their high standards and fabulous food. I do believe shorts and a t-shirt are not offensive to the average person, have you been to a bar lately? The kitchen and the cafe are always orderly, clean and the baked goods are irresistibly showcased, not “stuck about haphazardly.” I have no idea how you managed to get your own column, because as a food critic you may consider that you are no Dan Savage—needlessly insulting people is not witty on your part. You can print that.
