To the editor,
I want to thank you for bringing local issues to the forefront in the “City Council Report Card”—but I think you were a little harsh.
When good students are rewarded by their teachers, it encourages them to work harder. Councillors are people, too, and politics can be a thankless job. People like councillors Younger, Fougere, Sloane, Murphy, Uteck and others have worked hard to stay in touch with their constituents and have, for the most part, been on the right side of the issues (creating bike lanes, improving public transportation, opposing the asinine Chebucto road-widening project, etc.).
It would be nice to give the “good guys” a little encouragement with a few A grades. Also, it would isolate councillors truly deserving of an F.
