Tarp and pylons and barricades and rubble have been sitting on this South Street sidewalk for what seems like an eternity. It’s a perfect recipe—if you’re making fugly.

Remarks: We leave a voicemail with the feds, but they don’t return our call. Pity. Undaunted, we talk to Brian Robarts with the city’s Right of Way services. He tells us that the federal government had been doing some work on the retaining wall around the adjacent Fort Massey Cemetery last fall. From the looks of the big concrete slab lying on the ground, that project seems a likely culprit. Robarts vows to send out an inspector on our behalf and try and get the offending contractor to clean up their mess.
