If passed, it would define an unacceptable decibel level for vehicles and give cops the authority to penalize noise polluters. Despite support from HRM councillors and the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities, the PC government has shown little interest. “There are a couple of people in the legislature that drive bikes—I think that might have something to do with it,” says Whalen. With most reasonable bikers, we have no beef. To the others: We get it. You’re louder than a bus. Chill the eff out.
