Remarks: Haligonians have proven time and again that, when given an empty receptacle, we’re more than able to fill it with garbage. Regardless of shape, regardless of depth—give us an empty three-dimensional cube or cylinder and by god, we’ll find a way to put a coffee cup in it. Or a banana peel. Or a soiled napkin. It’s not that we’re against using legitimate garbage cans—but in their absence, we’ll improvise. Like this. Yucky.

Hey I fully agree, atleat there isn’t a lot of garbage lying around in the streets, hell the other day I was drinking a coffee walking down the street, came to the end of it where was I to put it? In that funny looking trashcan I guess.
Those “receptacles” are everywhere! If you’re gonna put a traffic light pole holder-thingy on a corner, put a traffic light pole-thingy in it! I agree that it’s ugly to see them full of gargage, but at least it’s not all over the ground!
