Remarks: Public opinion can always be split into two neat categories, and sentiment about Saturday’s concert is no exception. On one side, the argument that Halifax needs these events to prosper and cultivate a “big city” identity. On the other, the idea that holding a private concert on public land sucks, and that tax dollars could be better spent elsewhere. Expect the clean-up to either win favour for big events, or fuel the critics.
