So what? we wait around until a species is almost destroyed before we should step up and do something about it? If you actually knew anything about this issue you would realize that this issue isn’t about seals in danger of becoming extinct. It’s about the cruel and barbaric methods that are being used to control the population when there are other methods that could be used to manage the growing population. As for using celebrity status to raise attention to issues like this, whether you agree with their views or not, it gets people talking about it and what’s wrong with that? There are always two sides to every story and bringing it to our attention allows individuals the chance to research the topic and form an intelligent opinion based on fact.

These comments about the seal hunt are the most disgusting, idiotic comments I have ever read. One comment for the seal hunt is, “Why run around trying to save an animal nowhere near extinction?” They actually used to be on the endangered list because of humans, and why do we have to wait until something is almost extinct? Just because there is a lot of seals around makes it justified to kill them? Do they have no animal rights? As for the species of fish that are near extinct, it is the fault of humans!!! not seals. Maybe we need to stop overfishing, enforce the laws concerning the international fishers and get more coast guards out there to catch the idiots that continue to suck everything off of our fishing banks. Seals eat a multitude of things, not just cod. In fact squid is a main part of their diet, which is actually a predator of cod! We could actually be doing more damage to the cod by killing the seals. Maybe we as humans should do more things to fix our mistakes instead of taking an easy way out to slaughter baby harp seals. As for killing them for fur, it is disgusting and immoral no matter the money it brings. Also, for Gimpysaviour and your moronic statments I only have one thing to say to you, get an education.
