Re: Liz Feltham’s food review “Word is Bondi,” December 13. After years travelling abroad and dining in many European bistros, I have found Bondi offers something many restaurants in Halifax (and Canada for that matter) lack: personality.
Bondi is a small bistro but it has a unique European vibe. When you walk in, you feel the same way I did when I lived in Vienna and dined in Milano. The staff are friendly and excited to get to know you and, as you said, even the chef will come out and chat.
I find so many places in Canada are so busy with turn over that little to no relationship ever develops. If you’re looking for a place where the food is excellent and attention is paid to you, then Bondi is an amazing place to go.
