It was great to read Chris Benjamin’s article on the community arts projects, A Sense of Africvilleand Smardon’s Free Lab project (“Art history,” September 4). Please let your readers know that Halifax’s 4Cs Foundation provided the grant that made A Sense of Africville possible. We are extremely proud to have been a part of this project. Anyone interested in taking on a community arts project in HRM is invited to contact me (422-4805) for information on grants, artists, skills and techniques, and community arts in general. Our next funding deadline is coming up quickly–October 15.
