Nothing makes my eyes bleed more than the last 7 episodes of the Gomer Times. Okay, Coast, you’re restructuring, I get it. So there’s only two comics instead of three. And the bitch section now only posts the bitches, and not the comments at the bottom. And I’m forced to look at Sea Dogs advertisements while I’m there, fantastic.
Here’s a thought. If it’s not broken, don’t change it. One Million Mouths was a strange comic, some people may not have liked it – hey, but at least it had some sort of artistic integrity. This shit that you publish now looks like it was created my a 12 year old who stayed past his bedtime to gorge on coco puffs.
No seriously. I’m sick of this bad-drawing-is-art trend that seems to run rampant in the hipster culture, and now, it has it’s own comic. Pathetic.

True Story was the only one I ever enjoyed. I don’t know the names of the others…
One was always like three frames and had random out of focus grainy pictures with a line of text saying something vague that had nothing to do with the pictures. That one is fucking stupid. I guess it appeals to all the 14 year old emo kids who love Twilight.
Then there was that weird one that never made sense and almost always made me loose my appetite. I wasn’t a fan of it but at least it looked like some effort was put into it, unlike the the emo one.
I agree with bastardfish, the new one sucks ass, it looks like it was drawn in five minutes. How about giving the comic space to people who actually have artistic talent for a change.
Fish, I agree with ya on this one. Especially about the comics. One Million Mouths was kinda neat at first, but then it became very strange. I know it was all about being different, and being the anti-tabloid comic strip, but one can only accept so much of it, because it hits a point where it stops being avant-garde and becomes pretentious.
To the point of the bitches, I think it could be worse. I remember way back when the bitch section of The Coast comprised of one bitch submitted by letter. Sad, sad stuff.
what’s wrong with ads for seadogs,it’s a legal business that caters to gay males,gays for years had to put up with ads for straight sex chat lines,etc,etc ,etc..so,grow up and except the fact that the world around you is progressing,whilst you are NOT!!!!!!!!!
Gomer Times only makes me further want Hope Larson to come back and blow our minds with swirly, somewhat meaningful artwork again. *sigh*
True Story is always awesome, and I guess I’ll miss A Softer World (and fizz– there are people out there who like it that aren’t 14 or read Twilight. Just saying.) But seriously, yes, those other ‘comics’ are just a bunch of scribbles that aren’t funny and never make sense. How is that art? Who enjoys those comics??!
At least they got rid of that “House of Sugar” from a couple years ago. That had to be the absolutely most retarded fucking comic ever drawn…
