ultimately, it’s likely going to fuck me over once or twice this winter but I’d rather have complainers and clean streets than complainers and no clean streets.
zZz, last time it snowed, while I was out around 10pm in downtown halifax attending a dinner auction, I had to avoid all uphill travel because the roads were not cleaned, salted, or safe for anyone to walk on. I slipped twice while crossing 2 intersections walking to my car that was parked in a parking lot. I didn’t see a plow on that road that evening and it was snowing for 2 hours before I left the establishment. I hope you still agree with that tax grab.
HRM made in excess of $1,000,000 in Winter Parking Ban Tickets last winter. I can’t see them dropping it.
For god’s sake some counselors are making over $200,000 a year for sitting on their asses and doing nothing!!
I saw ads in employment website advertising starting positions for HRM at $30 an hour for just doing data entry! DATA FUCKING ENTRY at $30 an hour!!!

I still don’t get it . Call it what you want ( i support it in favor of clean streets . ) but it is after all – until there is a admendment to the by law – still on the books . Jesus man – if you don’t want to pay 50 a pop for a ticket……. don’t freaking park on the street – for whatever reason – take a cab or something jesus . Randomness, I’m sure the budget for snow removal far exceeded the 1 mil that they received from the tickets. Secondly, I’d love to see you handle the work load some of the councilors have on their plate. They get paid well because they’re on the job 24/7. They don’t get a day off.
to be perfectly honest, we have such a narrow street that I live on, it’s nice not to have all the cars there all the time. also, I’ve never been popped for winter parking….

I would like to know where this magical $30/hr job in HRM doing Data Entry is. Probably a load of bs like everything else people say about HRM and their employees that isn’t true haha.
hrm boy, you’re right. It is bullshit. To make that kind of money in hrm, you’d need to have something like a level 7 or 8 job. Data Entry would only be a level 3 or 4, which pays around $18-20 an hour. Somebody’s just riding the “government workers have it easy” bandwagon and slagging without actual knowledge. There are some IT workers that get a higher range, but I doubt $30 for data entry would still be possible.
