I usually keep my complaints about Metro Transit pretty private, among my friends and myself. I know Metro Transit has a hard job to do. I also recognize the impossibility of always being on schedule. However, I just waited for 45 minutes in the cold rain at a stop with no bench for the number one bus. Which is supposed to come every 15 minutes. Standing on my arthritic knee, which, incidentally was inflamed due to the weather. Painful? Yes. Even more so when the bus was so crowded with other people that had accumulated during the delay that I had to stand. Between the hours of four and six, going from downtown to Mumford or vice versa is always a hassle. Some of us really depend on you guys, Metro Transit. Please find a more efficient way to deal with delays. —sore and cold

  1. Travelling on the peninsula between 4 & 6 is a hassle for everybody.
Factor in bad weather, stupid drivers, an unexpected fender bender, a breakdown, etc. just about anything can happen.
I feel for you because I’ve been there. Sometimes you just have the lousy luck to be at the epicentre of a chain of unfortunate events.
It sucks, but it’s nobody’s fault.

  2. I blame it on all the drivers who feel that it’s best to come from far and wide to come into this city during rush hour to cram and clog the streets with a choke hold on traffic with no real purpose other than see how well they can mess this city up. Almost put a taxi driver up into a graveyard thinking he could pass me from a right turn lane yesterday, then he gives me a dirty look until he saw Grizzly Adams staring at him. I so wanted him to spout off at me, but he slowly sauntered away.

  3. barrington st. has a lot of shit going on. spring garden is jammed packed with asshole car drivers, and trucks parked on both sides of street usually. the bus that goes by there, i would never take, even to the hospitals. i would rather walk, bum leg and all. the bus drivers are all steamed and might get pissy at you, yes, there is no reason to bite your head off, but put yourself in their place for a day. no amount of money, could get me to drive for metro transit, and never a an arty bus, no fucking way in this world.
