To the dumbasses at Metro Transit who thought it was a good idea to put up those “Passenger Conduct” signs on busses when tensions between drivers and riders are already high: Great timing you fuckin morons. Why not just drink gasoline and piss it on a fire while you’re at it?

  1. So OP, what would you rather see in that slot? There are a select few riders who that sign is meant for. if it is you, take heed of the words, but since it isn’t likely to be about you, mellow out.

  2. I recently bought a car because it took me 1.5 hours to get to work on the bus, providing I actually CONNECTED. (A 13 minute drive from door to door now). Can someone enlighten me? I’m curious about this “passenger conduct” of which you speak.

Does it mention not screaming at a driver who watches you get off a bus and run toward his bus, and looks you right in the eye as he closes the door and drives away? ‘Cause, you know, that’s maybe what’s causing all the passengers to be so tense, thereby causing the drivers to beat inanimate objects. Just a thought.

Sorry Plastic Diver Guy, maybe I wasn’t riding the right routes, but I have had a grand total of 3 good experiences with Metro TransHit drivers since I moved back to NS 3 years ago. I was in Toronto using the TTC for 8.5 years, and only had 1 BAD experience there…

I’m not sure what it is about drivers here, maybe they don’t get enough respect from the company?

  3. I’m sensing a riders-drivers brawl afoot sooner or later. Pick your sides, its gonna be EPICCCC!!!

  4. Conduct required, well its about time.
about half the people I see getting on & off when I’m in Halifax ,would be perfect candidates for a ‘good reasons for abortion’ campaign.

  5. Fuck, who cares. I like seeing it posted. PDG is right; there’s only a select few people that it’s actually meant for. Sure, it’s not of the most politically opportune time to post it, but MT is isn’t a political organization. That said, they don’t have to worry about politics. You (the rider) just need to sit the fuck down and not worry about it.

  6. What do they say?

don’t be an asshole and you won’t be treated like one?

    or something like that?

  7. Personally I’ve never ahd a bad experience with MT. GoTime sucks that’s for sure, but what you expect from something automated? I’ve had drivers pull away when they see me coming sure, but if they’re already away fromt he curb they’re not supposed to stop and open the doors again anyway because if anything were to happen then they’re liable as they’re technically no longer at the bus stop. I’d really like to see these signs to see what they have to say… I know I’ve seen some people on MT that should deffinately have a posting for what’s allowed and what’s not.

  8. The sign in question pretty much just says that offensive language or aggressive behavior on the bus or at terminals is not permitted, and that drivers have the right to remove anyone not following the rules of passenger conduct.

This has always been the case, it’s just a better explanation than the schedule books (which are difficult to locate) give.

  9. The current media attention does not give an open door to “mob rule”. If an individual is acting like an aggressive ass or has deplorable language they will be asked to exit the bus, no questions asked. It is horrible that certain individuals can take task with simple guidelines.

  10. this is for “gidget”
a 13 minute drive from door to door! just walk you lazy pig!(if you have a physical disability im so so sorry and this doesnt aply to you, but if not SHAME ON YOU for 1. getting the bus for 1.5 hours for that distance and 2 for buying a car so you could drive there

  11. Dear “saucentoss” – I’d LOVE to walk or even cycle to work, except there aren’t pedestrians/cycles allowed on 100 series highways OR the Circ. Dumbass.
