I am sick and tired of people coming in to get pierced and asking my what the “gay” side is. THERE IS NO GAY SIDE. Knock it off with the fucking outdated homophobia and put the goddamn thing where you want it.
I’m also simultaneously impressed and frustrated by the fact that pretty much every single guy is not bothered by the possibility, and women/girlfriends appear fucking SKEEVED at the idea of having their/boyfriend’s ring in the “wrong” side. Knock it the fuck off, you’re embarrassing our gender, and your generation. You’re younger than me for fuck’s sakes, YOU should know better.

Tell ’em the right side is the gay side.
Make that the left side. I’m dyslexic today.
I didn’t know this question still exsisted LOL…WAY WAY BACK in the day like 1982 yeah that was the general question, BUT COME ON PEOPLE…I have so many things pierced I can’t figure which way is Up let alone left or right!!
Do people still think this way? My god, move into the 21st century. The “right is gay, left is gay” thing hasn’t been around for ages. It’s been so long, I can’t even remember which one was the supposed gay side. Tell them to get over themselves, their homophobia, and get a piercing wherever they want..
I can see why if someone heard that from their friends who didn’t know any better and wasn’t sure why they would ask a professional piercer. The piercer is the source of education on this topic and should be prepared to answer questions.I’m not saying this stereotype should at all be alive. But if you have even the smallest inkling, the piercer would be the person to check with to verify you are not sending out any mixed messages.
OK..Bad GUY…how can the piercer educate themselves on every stereo type out there and why on earth would he?? Why feed into making those stereotypes stronger and bringing them back to the surface?/ And how does one educate themselves on stereotypes??
personally i think 2008 aint all that fuckin enlightened people. tell me…where is the proof that it is. so OP, if a person comes in and asks the question about the “gay side” answer the fuckin question like this….”years ago it was assumed that only gay men wore earrings in their right ear but hopefully things have advanced beyond that nowadays” Is it that motherfuckin hard to try and enlighten people? OP stop being a whiny little crybaby, give the info being asked of you to the best of your abilities and educate a generation.
Educate a generation on an old sterotype…FUK THAT…OP look at them like the NUT JOBS they are and tell them something so made up and ridulcuous as the question…like well hoops in the left lobe make you a trannie and studs in the right make you a homo!! PIERCINGS are a FASHION STATEMENT not an indication of sexual preference!!
people just dont get it in here….is it better to point some wayward soul in the right direction or tell them to go fuck themselves? i would have thought the choice was obvious.
How is it feeding a stereotype to say “No that’s not true at all” and move on.I’m sure there’s way too many piercing stereotypes out there then a piercer could educate themselves on. I’m just saying a piercer has got to expect these questions like the “Is this going to hurt?”.
Ok…saying no that’s not true at all…one statement ok fair enough I guess!!
Gay is left retard….just tell them and get over it.
Touche barna… whatever
