What in the hell happened to the CBC national news at 12am (ET)? Peter Mansbridge is a balder, wider Anderson Cooper now. I tuned in last night (first time in a while at that time) and I was quite disappointed—nay, pissed off—that the entire format was some crap version of CNN and their blithering idiots. Touch screens? “panel correspondents”? Entertainment news? It was just terrible.
When I turn on the CBC, I DO NOT want to see the worst of American “journalism,” I want to see the stories that changed our day in Canada, presented in the usual fashion and having merit.

We have such boring news anchors. I enjoyed watching the evening news with Max Keeping when I lived in Ottawa in the late 90’s… I prefer to get my TV news fix nowadays from Rick Mercer and George Stroumboulopoulos…..
2 for the canadian bubblegum company in one day, sheesh. but then again, what can you expect from a government controled station. they can’t say much against the ones that give dollars to keep them going, now can they. but yes, cbc really sucks dog nuts in the last 10 years or so.
I think we need a “Boring CBC bitch” tag… Get over the CBC people…
I’m all for making the news interesting. It’s the news, people! Entertain me! Who doesn’t want to see big explosions and shit? Budget? Boring! I want some excitement in my life! Human interest stories? B O R I N G BORING! Let’s see some DEATH and DESTRUCTION!
I also like the stories about cute little kitties and things like that too.
I wish we had news like in “Anchorman.”
News at midnight on CBC for Halifax. Let’s sum it up…..first, a stabbing in Highfield Park by a person known to police, a robbery in Sackville by two 18 year olds, gunfire and drug offences in Spryfield by Melvin Jr, a car accident on the Circ, and a cat in the tree in South End. Did I miss anything?
