I’ve got a lot of reasons to be angry at a lot of people but I’m angriest at you. What gives you the right to comment officially on what kind of father I was? I wouldn’t do what you did to my worst enemy (and I actually had that opportunity) By the way, when you told the counselor that I was responsible for my family’s economic woes, did you happen to mention the $25,000 gift you accepted from my ex when we could barely afford to feed our kids? You’re the worst sort of hypocrite.—A father who wishes for fairness

yeah o.p., you are the father of the century.
You were set up?
That’s a large bribe!
I hope your children grow up to be half as articulate as you seem to be. Quit whining, grow a set and take responsibility for your actions and quit being such a bitch. Hopefully someday you will be able to afford a mantle on which to place your well deserved father of the year trophy. As for the “you won’t read this anyway” title… nice defeatist attitude…
Your kids are hungry and you’re throwing 25 K around? Fuck you bud, you’re a shitty dad.
Hey, OP, now that you’re really down in the dumps how about spotting me $50K?
$25k….damn, that’s a lot of Captain Crunch.
Hey, I’m the o.p. and I’d thought I’d respond to these comments.
1) First @Lifesucks. You, like some of the other commenters here, seem to be assuming things that aren’t in the o.p. All I can think of is that you interpret my “could barely afford to feed my kids” as some kind of failure on my part.
My post wasn’t about my successes or failures as a father, but rather about the way people come out of the woodwork to make petty complaints when people are in trouble. The person I’m angry about didn’t say I was abusing my kids–if that were the case she’d only be doing her duty. She just made some petty comments about the way I raised my children–issues that no two sets of parents will agree on.
When my sister got divorced both she and her ex-husband wanted me to tell the judge in their custody battle that the other was an idiot and a bad parent. I refused because, although they were both idiots IMO, I would not come between either one of them and their son (unless I thought one of them was actually abusive)
@stephen harper is the devil. I’m not sure what “actions” it is you want me to take responsibility for. And I’m not whining. It’s hypocrisy I’m berating, not my current situation. Incidentally at the time of my “troubles” I did have a job, but I also had a wife who liked to spend, and who felt that the problem wasn’t her spending but the fact that I could have and should have been making more money. (Oh, and the “you wont’ read this anyway.” just means that the person I’m mad at certainly doesn’t read, and certainly wouldn’t be reading this section in the Coast.)
@Guerilla Funk. And you’re a shitty reader. *I* didn’t have $25,000, the ex did. It was part of an inheritance that she felt was hers and hers alone to spend My main point is that I was criticized in a very petty fashion to a custody judge by someone who, without even blinking an eye, took money from my wife when we were in desparate need of it.
As for the ex, I don’t think she was attempting a bribe (the money was a gift before we broke up), she just wasn’t sensible about such things–hence the strain on our food budget. (And read more carefully guys, I said “barely afford to feed,” I didn’t say “couldn’t afford to feed.”)
dude people love trouble when it’s not there’s
@ martym
Umm…word?
I am even more confused by this bitch now… but I am totally behind Dads (and Moms) who are doing their best and feel awful that there is still the double standard regarding Dad v. Mom custody. I’ve known some rockin’ Dads getting shafted and some crap-tacular Moms who managed to get custody due to the fact that they have a womb. (yeah yeah ‘I pushed a watermelon out of a hole the size of an orange’ …. heard it all before sister… move on).
If you truly are one of the good guys ITOYA, good luck to you.
The $25, 000 thing still baffles me… and is this bitch directed toward a judge, or a counsellor… anyway…
