When the cab driver says MY name, you’re supposed to politely step back and let me take the cab I CALLED….I would have assumed it was a mistake except for the guilty look you gave me as you got in -real nice. I had an emergency at work and a child home alone, I was stuck in between and already stressed. Thanks, Asshole, you made a difficult situation much worse. But I’m sure you had to BE somewhere.

oh my well thats just crummy!
hopefuly you got home okay!
sorry, if it were an emergency no dork would be coming between you and (a cab to) your needy kids.
This happened to me once and I was not happy at all and had to wait about 20 minutes for another.
Ugh, I hate line-butters with a passion.
Ya ………what Jane and Rat said…..right on.
Kay has confused the situation with the point about who gets between a mother and her kids in an emergency, a good point, but the emergency was at work, the kid was home alone. I say something was wrong with this picture from the get-go, I think the emergency is really at home….fuck work!
oh bother!!!Kay!
you would be pissed if it was your kids
OP – get in the cab yourself and refuse to leave. Drivers take names for a reason and if they don’t match up – then the other people GTFO.
Its worked for me. Other things that worked for me are telling the rude pricks to stay in the cab – I go home first – then tell the prick who jumped in that they’re now responsible for my fare (should they refuse to leave).
Most drivers I’ve had got a kick out of my actions and knew that they were being paid eventually anyways.
If you want to stick it to someone, don’t just stand there and throw your arms up in the air all “WTF” b/c it does nothing for your cause.
