Unless you like getting hit by other vehicles I would advise you that you should abide by the rules that are set out for road safety. Stop making your own lane down the middle of the fuckin’ road!!!!! Just because there is a 1 foot wide space for you to fit your bike between 2 lanes of traffic flowing in one direction does not mean you can use it as your own lane to get to the front of traffic!!!!

Kay…I wouldn’t say the OB was jealous, more upset because that is just plain dangerous. There is a reason motorcycles aren’t allowed to do that either, and yes…it is against motor vehicle laws to do so. How would you honestly feel if you turned or changed lanes smooshed a biker because they were cutting up the middle of the lanes? Personally I would be devastated to know someone died under my car because of their own stupidity.
You can do your over the shoulder checks and still miss a biker when they are not proceeding as required. As ridiculous as your comments can be, I am pretty certain that you would be pretty upset too were you actually confronted with a dead biker all mangled under your car.

Until some idiot gets killed and some poor driver is up to their asshole filling out forms, statements, etc for the police and insurance companies. Then the inconvenience of getting a rental, but worst of all listening to all the bitches because an asshole biker caused their own demise.
I pass a certain number of stopped or travelling cars, but only at the side of the road. I don’t go past any cars that are too close to the side. To do what the OP describes sounds like a good way to fuck yourself up. Oh and Kay, even if a bike passes you you’ll still probably get to your destination way before they will, if that makes you feel any better 😛

Sure, I agree that what the OP describes is a dumbass thing to do. But I assume your comment also referred to bikes passing next to the kerb. If there’s enough room for me to pass and I’m not endangering anyone, why shouldn’t I pass?

It doesn’t bother me in the slightest that they are passing me while I wait at a light…for the exact reason Mole Rat pointed out, in two minutes time I will pass them by. What concerns me is that eventually this is going to cost someones life (likely already has, just not reported in excruciating detail by the media other than a generic “road death” article) and also cost someone else as well…the drive, the families and the witnesses. Nobody is ever the same after seeing a human body folded up like an accordion…trust me, it’s horrific and scarring.
F7…people do care, that’s why it’s illegal. They just care for a different reason, it’s because eventually someone innocent is going to have to grieve because of a simple choice that was innocent enough but ended in tragedy.
I will admit that you see car drivers everyday trying to cut bikers off from doing this, which is ridiculous because it only heightens the likelihood that someone is going to get hurtkilled, not too mention the driver will be most assuredly charged for it (deservedly so in my opinion). I don’t get bothered by bikers passing me at lights, no biggie really as long as they do it in a way that I can see them coming. What irks me are the idiots (in cars) at rush hour doing everything they can to get a few more cars ahead…and making rush hour traffic worse because of it. fucking drives me up the wall, there are days where I just want to get out and jump on their hood and proceed to take a HUGE shit on their windshield.

I saw a motorcycle drive down the sidewalk on bayers to pass the traffic not to long ago.
