oh MAN gotta doozie for yas. dartmouth crossing i make a left hand turn in the right lane from the highway. i make a lane change to the right lane to go down into the loop and make my way to timmies. woman in front of me as im about to come up to her right bumper(shes still in left lane) puts her blinker on and forgets to check blind spot, nearly smashing into me. I lay on the horn and slam on the brakes and she slams on the breaks to try and get me to rear end her i assume. i switch lanes immediately and drive past her and carry on…all the while her passenger is flipping the bird at ME lol. so i pull into timmies drive through and the woman follows me IN!! next thing i know shes parked close to me and her passenger(daughter) comes flying out of the car towards me lol. she says DIDNT you see the fucking blinker?! to which i reply just because you have your blinker on DOESNT give you the right to change lanes in an unsafe manner, your driver never even looked in her mirror to see if it was clear…where the FUCK do people learn how to drive…its getting to a critical point here people, i mean basic lane change is exactly that…BASIC. —Cuja12

they did INDEED use a blinker, as i was about 2 feet from being hit by their bumper. but that made their driving perfectly acceptable in their idiotic little minds. lol.

Lucky they gave you the brief indication they were changing lanes. Everyday on Hammonds Plains Rd I watch as people fly down the right hand lane, only to cut in ( and off) somebody at the last minute, sans blinker.
If it makes your feel any better, someone did this to me today but I was on my bike. They knocked me off my bike and rather than get out of their car and help me off the road they proceeded to roll down their window and yell at me for being in the way!!!
And then there are those who drive with blinkers on driving on a highway for miles…am always wondering which tree or rock they’re going to turn towards.
Lucy i thank you for your gesture, but rest assured your experience is not something i could feel better about, it just makes the reason why i bitched in the first place even more justified. i can understand that some people just dont have a full attention span when they are driving/riding a vehicle(i mention riding because not all cyclists are saints just as not all drivers are saints) but there is a commonality between them and that is inattentiveness mixed with this misbegotten sense of i can do whatever i want with a majority of drivers/cyclists. i think of it like the warning stickers on high powered machinery (YOU WILL DIE if you do this or dont do that) but when people are driving their cars with little regard for what their actions may cause is where it gets really dicey. im confident im correct in saying that inattentive/ignorant drivers are even more dicey for the cyclists and pedestrians. i might be naive in this wish, but i really do wish people driving will suddenly wake up one day and say holy shit…i shouldnt go through this red light, or cut across 3 lanes of highway because im going to miss my exit and im driving distracted, or remind themselves that they have a blind spot that needs to be checked before making a safe lane change….sigh.
Not much of a doozie .. lots of dangerous things happen on the roads everyday. What is curious to me is how we all make dumb-ass mistakes occasionally while driving, but many of us have so little forgiveness when we are transgressed. It’s all about the other guy, isn’t it?

I feel your pain Cuja 12. I feel your pain. People are so fucking stupid here its not even funny. Its like everything is always someone elses fault. No one takes responsibility for their own actions. Why do people run out in front of traffic to cross the street and curse out the driver when they almost get hit? Fucking dumb asses. Why do people cross the street in the middle of an intersection when the red hand is telling them not to and the traffic they’re walking into has a green light? Fucking dumb asses. Why do people on the bus exit the front door crowding those trying to get in when there are big ass signs above their heads telling them to exit the rear door? Ablsolute dumb asses! Are the citizens of Halifax 80% illiterate? I have lived in a lot of cities in my life and I have never ever seen anything like this. Day in and day out people are oblivious to their own stupidity. You people here are fucking retarded!
