Don’t borrow money from your friends of you don’t want to pay to pay it back. Saying you don’t have it, or are so far behind on bills that you can’t pay it back just makes you look disgusting when you’re out shopping every week or going out to dinner-every week.

I’ve learned my lesson and I will never lend money again thanks to my negative experience with you. I hope someday you yourself will learn your lesson and get off your lazy narcissistic ass and do what’s right before you’ve lost all of your friends. Using people is not cool.

  1. One thing I’ve learned from watching about a million Judge Judy episodes is that you should never EVER lend money to your friends. It’s the kiss of death for any friendship.

  2. You’re better off just dropping those friends who don’t have money. Keep inviting them but never offer to pay and never lend them money. They have lines of credit they can use.

  3. OP, I hope it wasn’t very much, but it was probably worth the lesson before lending more.

The only way I can see money-lending between friends working would be if there were a back-up plan involving collateral. ie: If you don’t pay me back by X, I get your Y.

…but as has already been mentioned, if someone is even asking, that might be a red flag already.
