When you call my number and I tell you you’ve got a wrong number it means YOU DIALED THE WRONG NUMBER. Don’t argue with me about how “this is supposed to be so and so’s number” or grill me on who I am. No Jim DOESN’T live here, and no I’m not telling you who I am, and no, I don’t know what Jim’s number is.

Fuck sakes.

  1. WOO WOO, in time for this one…
thanks OP for hookin’ me up.

Were they from a cell company with a RED logo?
We had them call once…. they seriously provide our cell service, for which a contract was signed and a number given, and didn’t get the name even remotely right.

    Some people’s children…. geez.

  2. This bill collector used to call me at work when I worked for the feds. He was CONVINCED I was lying when I said he had the wrong number and that i was really this person. He’d call me at least twice a week. Once he even said “you can’t hide from us Ms. so and so” (don’t remember the name of the person they were trying to contact).

    Fucking asshat.

  3. I actually have the same problem with collection agencies as well. I told them multiple times that the person did not live with me and that they had wrong information. This continued until I sent them a formal letter asking them to stop and if they didn’t, I would charge them with harassment (up until last week, they were calling at least twice a day and leaving threatening voicemails). If it isn’t that, and just a personal caller, there’s not much you can do besides blocking the number. Free service, I believe.

  4. yeah ive had that too Pretty and Dr. with the bill collectors…apparently the owner of the number i was issued was quite the bill skipper. i did the threatening to charge with harassment thing and after i spoke with a “supervisor” the calls stopped.

but one thing that happened from that sex show…i stupidly put my cell phone down on one of the ballots for the trips…got calls from new york like twice a day. i called the company whose name rhymes with hell…and they said they were unable to block numbers. i was ever so pissed. the calls have stopped though…guess they got tired of being told to fuck off.

  5. I get calls all the time for Jane Smith (how original) to call back right away for “an urgent business matter”. So I called and told them Jane does not live at this number and to stop calling. The guy then asks for my name and phone number. I said, you called Jane Smith, so you should have the number! He said there we no way to stop the calls unless he had my name and phone number. What the fuck?!?!

    Any suggestions?

  6. um likely scam Bitch, Please! theres a site, phonebusters.com that can provide info on possible scams and you can report new ones.

however i beleive as a general rule…never provide any personal info of any kind to an unsolicited caller.

  7. Pretty and Dr, can you really blame these agencies for not believing you. Guess how many times they are told this. You want them to stop then have your employer, bank or even your clergy to write them (on letterhead) that you are not this person. Yeah I know it’s a pain in the ass but should get them off your ass.

  8. I don’t give a shit whether or not they believe me: I have no business with them. Why should I have to go through all the trouble because they have a wrong number? They have no legal right to be calling me let alone harassing me.

They can fuck right off. Not like MY credit’s on the line. As far as I’m concerned they’ll get a “no they don’t live here” and a “go fuck yourself” before I hang up the phone.

  9. Hey Tim, that’s fine, but when they’re asked to stop calling, that’s the end of it. Plain and simple. Once you ask them to stop, they are to stop. Just because they don’t believe me doesn’t mean they get to harass me at every waking moment and threaten me and I have every right to follow every legal action.
