Firstly, how insulting it was for me to go the “HRM Customer Service Centre” to pay off my parking ticket. How about “HRM Resident Service Centre”? I am not a customer of Halifax, thank you very much. Before I even made it to the Customer (aargh!) Servi

Wow, those are some strong feelings over a word but technicially speaking, they don’t only serve HRM “residents”. But that’s not why I’m writing – dude – read the back of the ticket and it gives you all payment options – how difficult could that have been????
Fair enough, I accept that I should have first looked at the back of the ticket. However, that does not take away from…1) the fact that the HRM Customer Service Centre should change its name to something that doesn’t qualify residents as simply customers – “HRM Resident and Visitor Service Centre”, for instance and 2)that a police officer working at the reception of the Halifax Police Department Headquarters should at least know what the business hours and parking ticket payment options are at the HRM Customer (aargh!) Service Centre. Peace.
Dude, who cares what the place is called? I’m sure one could find problems with ANY name they chose. Also, the officer you spoke to may just have been misinformed. People screw up. Yeah, it’s inconvenient, but it’s really not that big a deal. Not worth the stress it seems to have caused you, for sure.
I completely agree with Some Dude. Chris, it’s people like you who make people in the service industry bitter. You complain about every little thing when in reality the people who are working at these establishments are there to help out and nine times out of 10, are doing the best they can. And by the way, HRM Customer Service Centre does not imply that you are a customer of HRM…it suggests that you are a customer of that service centre… so GET OVER IT and next time use the internet OR the phone to pay your ticket.
