I did get a kick out of the sign that read “If this was France; shit would be burning” But yeah, chances are real good that the kids who value their educations didn’t bother to cut class just so they could chant “Hey Hey, Ho Ho”
No shit, eh? Every since they all got back from Christmas in Sow-Ont we’re seeing those things everywhere. They’re the new Uggs. No, wait, they’re the new Columbia…Far West…Sun Ice…Levis jacket…
I feel bad for the chicks who jumped on the bandwagon right away and just have plain black ones with a long sillouette, something that my dad would wear at CFS Alert. Now all of the people who waited are getting nice ones in colors other than black and with a waist high jeans showing off taper, much more feminine.

Another little suggestion for all those folks, pick up your trash. I walked along Barrington after the demonstration, and the street was littered with signs. If you want the taxpayers to fund your education, at least help us keep down the cost of cleaning up after you.
Who cares. Every year students protest tuition costs. It accomplishes nothing. They need to learn to take responsibility for the cost of the education themselves. No one is forcing them to go to university. They made the decision themselves.

Every year there’s a gay pride parade and doesn’t accomplish anything either. It’s novelty. Protesting goes further than a little party for pretentious twinks. Most people go just for something to do or to take pictures of the outfits on drag queens.
It’s that simple. If protesting accomplishes nothing for students then it does nothing for gays either. This includes that silly parade.
Inaccurate, sebastian. The last major protest of rising tuition fees resulted in a 3 year freeze on tuition hikes. That is up for review this year, hence why students are protesting. Try reading a newspaper sometime, you might learn something.
Besides that, the people that suffer most from tuition hikes are those in low-income circumstances. So what you’re essentially saying is that unless you’re rich, you don’t deserve to go to university, unless you’re willing to work way harder and incur a ridiculous amount of debt. To which I say: fuck you. People shouldn’t be forced into debt slavery for trying to better themselves. Would you rather taxpayers chip in to educate folks, or to hand out welfare cheques and food stamps?

No, I do not think education will complete end racism, but most of the free countries on this planet, who mostly all have a higher quality of life, have easier access to education than we do. But hey, the system here works so well, we do need to take any direction from anyone else. Ignorance is bliss
