To the “gentleman” who lifted up my girlfriend’s skirt on Barrington a few weeks ago, I don’t care how many drinks you had to make you think that you had the right to do that. I love how someone’s privacy and your etiquite flew out the fucking window after a few too many at the local bar. You fucking pervert! and then you just walked way like nothing happened! If it weren’t for your posse of drunk friends and the fact that I am a small woman myself, I’d have fucking ripped your fingers right off your hands. My only wish for you is that you try to pull that shit again, and someone’s boyfriend or huge butch lover lays you flat on the ground and kicks your ugly drunk ass. Even then you will get much less than you deserve.

This bitch also applies to those “ladies” who think it’s OK to lift up my other half’s kilt when he’s out in full regalia.
Shining your shoes to a high gloss and standing nearby would be creepier, but much more polite, IMO.
Maybe she shouldn’t be working that corner. Some guys like to see the goods before the purchase.
ewwwwwwwwwwwwww, barrington street.
smells like cabbage and wet farts.
Another example of ‘Instant Asshat – Just Add Alcohol Syndrome’.
You could have followed them discretly and had him charged… Or bitch on a website, whatever works…
Let me guess – this occurred in front of the Pogue.
“had him charged”? people gotta lighten the fuck up. Have a guy put on the sex offender registry because he flips a skirt? FFS.
What if a girl did it? Does it matter? ha ha, just trolln’ folks…
OP
Have your girfriend lace her skirt with rat traps.
One touch ..and SNAP!!! A new fashion trend for pervs.
I am not commenting on this poster..and there is no excuse for doing this regardless, but I do get a kick out of some girls. They wear skirts that barely cover their snatch and walk around a bar at 2 am full of drunken men. Then they wonder why someone grabs their ass! Helloooooo!!! Like I said, there is NO excuse for this, but when you dress like a slut (again not the OP) and walk around a dark, crowded bar full of drunks, this will happen “ladies”. If you do not want people to check the goods, then dont advertise so much. Add teh booze and it is a recipe for disaster.
Bobby, despite your reservations I think you’re wrong. If you walk past me with your shirt off as many men do in the summertime and seeing a beautiful male body solicits a normal sexual response from this healthy female it does NOT give me the right to touch you. Ever. Booze or not. Girls get horny too upon seeing a sexy man, you know? Just because our touching might be welcome doesn’t mean we should do it without gaining permission.
The old ‘do unto your neighbour’ rule applies here. If your wife got all dolled up for you in a short skirt for a night on the town I don’t think you’d count on the male species having unspoken rights to touch her. Anywhere. Period.
Did you know it’s legal for a lady to walk around topless in Ontario? Do you really think because you see tits you can/should touch them? Do you really think if you see tits those tits should expect to be touched for having the wherewithal to be exposed? You’re wrong wrong wrong! You’re a highly evolved animal with choices where instinct is concerned. EXPECT civilized behavior from these animals. All of them. They’re human beings. All of them.
Women have the right to go topless in public in Ontario but none actually do, except perhaps Gwen Jacob, the one-woman-crusader who won this right, and even she does not go topless regularly.(See Niagarathisweek.com/news/article/112115)
Oh, and there was a woman in St. Catharines (who should never go topless…ewwwww), who once went to the beer store topless and was promptly thrown out for the same reason as a topless man would be. She was regarded as the town nutbar though…need I say more?
What about the nude beach? If someone goes there (male or female) does it then give anyone else the right to touch? Just curious.
Kay- as I stated, NO ONE (can I spell that out again) has the RIGHT to touch ANYONE who does not want to be touched. I do not know hoe much more clear or concise I can make that. Having said this, all I am saying is that I can see how it happens. As for your bare tits analogy, I can pretty much guarantee that if you walked in front of the Dome topless at 2 am on a Friday you would probably get your boobs grabbed. However, you coudl probably do the same thing on the waterfront during mid afternoon and be pretty safe. My point is that it is all about the situation and the context. Add copious amounts of booze to young men with raging hormones and parade through a bar half naked and you run the risk of being groped. I have seen it happen many times. It does not make it right but it happens. And no, not just in Halifax.
Leathernfire: The ONLY time touching is okay is when the person being touched has given consent.
Nudity alone does not constitute consent. A woman’s or man’s state of dress or undress does not constitute consent. Just because someone dresses in a slutty outfit (not saying the OP and party were or that I think slutty outfits are publicly appropriate) does not give others the right to touch without consent. Ever.
hahaha
This is too funny…”touch without consent”
LMAO…no your honor, he didn’t have my consent to touch me, not in writing anyway…but he did, and him…but not him.
Hilarious.
It comes down to this…if drunk ugly creep puts his arm around you…it’s “touching without consent” (snicker)…but if it’s Brad Pitt, wellllll then it’s “did you see that? brad Pitt put his arm around me!!” and twitters for the next month!
What’s so funny about it? Most people would consent to being hugged by Brad Pitt, but not by some drunk ugly creep (I have the restraining orders to prove it). That’s why they are dressed like skanks in the first place…to attract Brad Pitts, not uggos. Just because consent is dependent on such a shallow attribute, doesn’t mean it’s not needed. No touchy unless invited.
Also….big difference between putting your arm around someone and lifting someone’s skirt.
On the touching without consent…if someone bumps into you, there was no consent…& it could be argued there was no intent. It was a simply a missed step/tripping/stumbled into you.
Her dress just happened to adhere temperarily to his shooter dribbled fingers.(its a possibility, the OP says he was drunk)
So “You see your honor there was no intent…just an honest accident . It’s not like he threw her on the ground & forced her dress up over her head” No he bumped into her in lifting his hand to steady himself , the dress moved up a notch(because he had sticky hands) & he realised he needed to go on his way…which he did. ;p
I remember the boys’ playground game of ‘Peanut Butter’: the boys would run up to a girl, lift her skirt and yell, Peanut Butter! then run away. What made it a game was that the girl would then chase the boy down, and if she caught him, she put a thumpin’ onto him. At that age, the girls were bigger than the boys, so only the fastest or stupidest boys would dare play it.
maybe if your g/f wasn’t a slut and leading the perv on while you was taking a piss in the can
I swear I didn’t lift her skirt up! Besides, it wasn’t worth it… all fuzzy and the like.
Ocean, oh I know that no one has the right to touch, no matter what you may (or may not) be wearing. My question was more directed at Bobby I guess. I guess I haven’t been around here long enough to get used to the dickhead comments that are made, lol.
leatherNfire, there sure are a wide variety of comments to be found here. Good for a laugh sometimes. The ones that can make a valid point without the inclusion of insults, name-calling and vitriol are preferable but not always found at LTWWB.
More, bumping into someone (usually accidental) is not the same as purposely touching someone in an inappropriate manner. A drunken guest at a private party once touched me inappropriately, was instantly berated by other guests and soon departed. Drunk enough to know it was wrong but did it anyway, he decided to leave because he knew that behaviour was not welcome.
The context of the touching matters greatly. Accidental, uninvited touching is an accepted occurance. Those with manners usually say ‘excuse me’ when it happens. Deliberate, uninvited touching is offensive. That the perpetrator is fueled by alcohol makes it no less offensive…or excusable.
Oceanlady, I read it as a dress was lifted, not inappropriate touching.
Both of which are in this society, are considered wrong. I was playing devils advocate there & hey, who knows it may have just been a drunken bump & sticky fingers !
(but I doubt it)
