We live in a day and age where government budgets are disgusting, one government passes the next a bunch of debt and takes their checks to the bank while the taxpayers cover their salaries, their pensions, and the debt they left behind. Here in Nova Scotia we have some of the highest rates of taxation in the country because of this. There is no accountability.
We have one very wasteful politician I’d like to call out!
First you lose us something to the tune of $400k in the “concert scandal” which you were not entitled to do. You claimed ignorance which to me means one of two things – you thought you were above the law, or you got hustled like a clown.
Then I open the paper the other day and see two articles in the same newspaper, one hidden in the back of the first section, the other on the first page. One was about how it was unlawful, and unconstitutional for this politician to order police to remove peaceful protestors without a court order. The other article was about how the removal of these protestors cost taxpayers over $100k in police OT.
If I’m not mistaken that’s a half million dollars you’ve now unlawfully wasted for the people you were elected to represent. Do you really feel so above the law? You really should start looking for a cushy job in the private sector because odds of you getting elected again for anything are pretty null, maybe you can just retire on the pension you receive from your years of DISSERVICE. —You’re a Clown and Karma’s the Real Bitch

Yeah, actually he appears to be exactly that. No charges have been laid in the concert scandal, and my guess is nothing will come of his screwup of the occupy eviction, and it doesn’t look much like he’s going to have to resign or pay restitution for either blunder. That my friend is the definition of “above the law”. He’s our very own mayor Quimby, without the hookers and the fun.

yeah but who, is going to waste their time running against him, you? if you answered no, then there is the problem. lack of decent opponents to run his ass out of town. i just wish to fuck that i was able to enter, but i am not able to. there are some reasons why not, but most are very minor, and nothing to do with the law, as we know it.
if anyone has a lot to say, then get in there, get elected, and change the shit that needs changing. other than that, just lick your nuts, if you have them, and lie down in a corner.
Bring the gallows back to Quinpool/Robie and have the corrupt politicians hang by their ankles.
None of us know what transpired in the ‘in camera’ meeting. I’ll just wait for the court case….there is going to be one…isn’t there ?
Errrr, not a chance of a court challenge. The Ontario judge will set down a marker on Monday and that will be the end of it for 5 years if it rolls off to appeal and then SCOC where the vast majority of judges will be Harper appointments by the time the case gets there.
OB, I find your choice of rule stick that you use to measure the worth of a politician is comical….not because it shows how corrupt or smug some politicians are, rather it assumes that some politicians aren’t.
You know, every time I see someone harp on about how it’s unconstitutional to remove protestors without a court order, I wonder if maybe the police/city council/whoever actually *had* a court order. It seems entirely feasible to me. Still doesn’t make it any less of a dick move, though.
