I absolutely refuse to give up my timmies.
Did Tim’s introduce the dark roast so people who had double/doubles could actually taste coffee? Will this increase the sales of triple/triples?
OB, your bitch is as useless as charging and convicting our children with child-porn offenses. Not certain how that changes the past… seems it only ruins someone’s future as an adult. Can’t help but wonder if we aren’t over-reacting to tragedies rather than learning from them. Sad days. We should be ashamed of ourselves…
Off topic question: if someone who is under age is charged and convicted of manufacturing and distributing child pornography, do they have to register as a sex offender? And if so, do they have to register for the duration of their lives?
I’m curious, but not curious enough to do my own research.
meaty, those little bastards should have a rock tied around their necks and be painted neon orange for the rest of their lives. have you ever read (before they took it down) their disgusting facebook comments? these are not tragic little boys who made an oopsie. they (and a couple of parents and two really piggish sisters) are not having their lives ‘ruined’ by this. the best any of them could attain is welfare. these are dregs.
the sheer imbalance of the one life who really was ruined….the loss to the future of one lovely, kind, caring, intelligent girl from a kind, caring, intelligent and HUMANE family balanced against those low lifes? now that is the real tragedy.
does this mean i value one life over another? you bet your ass i do.
Yeah, they do. And yes, for the rest of their lives. They will be forbidden from travelling to certain countries and if caught there, they will be deported.
They will never be able to get a decent job because not only because of a criminal conviction, but being a sex-offender.
And they will never be able to be a pardon. Ever.
In the future (extrapolating today’s mindset) I foresee them having to go door-to-door telling neighbours they are sex-offenders.
Oh, and they are our children; the leaders of tomorrow; the ones we will reply upon for our care and well-being… Here’s a conviction that will ruin your lives; and in thirty years, we want you to wipe our butts.
That’s too bad BDM… valuing one life over another is a shameful value that you must have adopted from the USA… or are you a Yankee?
If you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas. Learn from the mistake and move on; being a victim – now and into perpetuity – doesn’t help anyone, especially the person who was victimized.
And shooting someone for stealing bread is overkill, no? Or do you like that Texas murders mentally-challenged people who commit crimes?
I repeat:
Not certain how that changes the past… seems it only ruins someone’s future as an adult. Can’t help but wonder if we aren’t over-reacting to tragedies rather than learning from them. Sad days. We should be ashamed of ourselves…
And BDM, you should be the most ashamed.
When do we take responsibility for our own actions and choices?
You switched locations just to tell one person not to buy your coffee? That’s weird.
are we even talking about the same thing???? so if you claim we should take responsibility for our own actions, when do the little bastards start taking responsibility?
and YOU should be ashamed for comparing what they did to her to stealing a loaf of bread. less even, since i wasn’t recommending the death penalty. what do you consider their crime? stealing a muffin?
Don’t worry, they’re Young Offenders, nothing lasts forever. Except maybe being trash. Who’s life has more value on your island? A doctor, a farmer, or a rapist. Pick two. (yes, a doctor or a farmer can be a rapist, but lets just say for the sake of the argument that neither are, and that the only skillset rapey brings to the table is the ability to rape underage girls who are falling down drunk).
I’m usually with ya, Meaty, but… you make it seem like these guys are the victims here. If they didn’t want to be punished for doing shit they shouldn’t’ve been doing – they shouldn’t’ve done it in the first place.
While I’m not convinced they should be on the registry for the rest of their lives, because they were technically children when they committed the offense, they DO need to be held accountable for their actions.
they also shouldn’t be allowed within 2 blocks from any schools or parks where children are present.
interesting way to get out of classes.
“Do not strike the child, strike the parent.” Pascal (?)
Then, come November, we can strike the child(ren).
I read this article on buzzfeed, I think it was, about this woman who got into a relationship with a registered sex offender (child porn offender) knowing full well he was a convicted sex offender. They got married and she got knocked up and the state said that if she didn’t give him the boot, they’d take away their baby as soon as he/she was born.
The woman was all broken up about it all “WAHWAH OMG I HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN MY MAN AND MY BABY! DIS IS SO WRONG!”
SMDH.
Yes BDM, we are speaking of the same thing.
If I put myself or find in a compromising situation, then I have the responsibility to remove myself (if I am unable, that is a different matter; but in this case, it isn’t) or accept the consequences.
We are too often screaming “victim” when in reality, we made a choice; sometimes poor ones.
And yes, we need to be held accountable for our actions… and accept THOSE consequences as well.
But when dealing out correction, we have to think about the end-results. In the long-run – in this case – everyone loses. So then, what did we gain?
Sad days. We should all be ashamed…
so in the long run, punishment/consequences are futile because the convicted one will lose something? that is insupportable.
one could argue that any person convicted of a crime would suffer if penalized. of course they would suffer, that’s the point. we do not have a judicial system based solely on rehabilitation. we have some good old testament punishment thrown in as well for people who know better but did it anyway. and as a warning flag for others who may be tempted to ‘do it anyway’.
Meaty your stupid is showing. I feel bad for those boys for one reason only-their parents did not immediately hold them to account for their disgusting behaviour. They actually think they are victims in this case. Seeing those pieces of shit with the signs protesting the fact that these boys were charged…that was fucking shameful.
We gained the fact that those pieces of trash will always and forever have that girls death to deal with in some capacity. Because it damn sure isn’t on their conscience.
You ain’t one of those fancy high-class big city baristas?
I’m certain that those boys will forever have to deal with her death Tomaso; branding them as child pornographers doesn’t fit the offence. Their offence is not along the same line as an adult filming him/herself or someone else raping a 5 year old child.
I respectfully disagree. I think it’s appropriate. You are right that they did not commit anything like what you described, so neither here nor there. They made and then made available that pic without her consent. That is what they did. They ruined someone’s life for props from other idiots who think like them. Fuck them.
there is a particular crime, then there are degrees of harm done, intent etc. that’s where sentencing comes in. guilty is guilty. he admitted the crime they are being charged with, and in doing so, also the one they got away with.
meaty, this is not just ‘boys will be boys’ which is where, unbelievably, you appear to be going with this.
If you two stopped and took the emotion out of the situation, you might see things differently… but, you aren’t/can’t/won’t. Therein lies the problem.
Conjecture lies at the heart of your arguements and is being used to argue your points. If I spread my legs after I drank alcohol/consumed intoxifying substances and got an STI, then I have no one to blame but myself.
After all, if I’m old enough to be charged with being a sexual deviant, then I’m old enough to accept responsibility for my own actions. Including being filmed.
What has happened to those boys is unfair. If women want equality, stop being victims and take responsibility for your choices, including the bad ones.
Well now, is all you can do to argue your point is insult me? Does that effect any change?
You can’t fix stupid. You obviously don’t get it, and I stand by the points I made previously. Nothing else to say about it other than you have yet to make a cogent point.
