I fucking hate ontario. Ontario is made up of people who don’t want to live in ontario. And that’s pretty much it.

There’s that typical “then just fucking leave” response to anyone that complains about (or even offers constructive criticism to) the problems of this province. Fucking shameful. I hope it was obvious that I was trolling when I knocked the “cuisine” that you’re all so proud of, but I’ve seen the kind unintelligent, xenophobic, and otherwise useless debates or responses that come from some of you people. It shouldn’t be so futile to argue for some change, or progress or even to convince people to start using their indicators before they want to make a turn with their vehicles. There’s nothing wrong with being proud and defensive of where you’re from as long as you actually have something to be proud of.
Although I admit from being from Ontario….there isn’t enough money on the planet for me to move back there..NOVA SCOTIA is God’s Country.

Having lived across this country I believe this is the greatest province to live in. The best people in Canada live here.
Its always funny how people call Nova scotia and newfoundland “gods’ country” when it looks exactly the same as cottage country Ontario(far north). interestingly enough my wife from here pointed that out to me while vacationing at our cottage. Also funny is how instead of people saying well lets fix it if there is a problem…here they just say well we like how fucked up things are so if you dont like it leave….thats great progressive thinking. I have met some of the most vile and rude people here, ignorant as all get out….ive met some of the most racist and anti gay people , of which ive never seen the likes of in any other province or territory ive been to so far. Even the quebeccers ive met have been more polite and less arrogant. That being said, its also funny how so many people, especially young people flock to every other province for jobs. There must be a reason for this…any guesses? but certainly as some of you may touch on, they shouldnt be here then if they dont like it so much. grow up. use the grey matter between your ears. If thousand of people are saying there is an issue or ten…then something, is definitely fucked up.
Eh I’ve lived in Ontario, Quebec and NS and I think it really depends on where in the province you live.
So I always judge a place by the community I lived in. For instance, I love Ottawa, but I’m a bit sketch about Scarborough.
Ontario had some great programs and such, but what people like OB don’t realize is that we just don’t have the tax base here to be like Ontario.
And anyone notice how these ‘ontario rulez, ns drools’ bitches are all coming in at the start of the school year?

its completely different from loving your country and wanting changes to laws, or loving your small town but campaigning for better traffic control, or loving your family but asking for moister turkey at the table.

If Ontario is so great then why do all the people from there I’ve met in Calgary seem to prefer Alberta, BC, or anywhere to Ontario? Those fucking pansies banned that crystal head vodka because they’re actually afraid of skulls.

Fuck you. I’m doing plenty of favours by staying; I have a well paying job that certainly helps your economy, and I’ve never drawn EI, but I’ve sure as fuck payed more than my fair share into it; and what kind of lazy piece of shit would just get up and leave because they didn’t agree with something? I think this would be a pretty great place to live if some of the people here had the gumption to try and fix some of the problems; but no, you just keep getting offended that people that came to live here for work or school aren’t polite enough not to point out obvious flaws in your government, infrastructure and terrible habits.

I’ve lived all over canada. I like Halifax the best for a lot of reasons. There are a lot of things that we need to fix in this province though, Danimal is right about that. But going on about paying taxes as if he single-handedly funds the province just makes hims sound like a wiener. If I wasn’t living in N.S. I would probably either chose to live in B.C. or Quebec. Ontario is a shit-hole and a lot of the people that I met from there are complete wankers. Not to mention – if you want to start finding things that provinces need to fix, I would be more than happy to list off some crap that’s wrong with Ontario (aside from the obvious things) And fuck you, donairs are great.

The Saint Lawrence seaway always has to recieved the gravy of the shipping because that’s where the most votes are. No federal politician wants to take shipping from the great lakes and give it to us (even though we a capable of handling more than we already do). This is a major reason why Nova Scotia hasn’t gotten past it’s regional desparity.
Also, Nova Scotia has a very solid real estate market (one can almost be guaranteed a 4.8% annual increase) because of steady outside investors as well as a large retired population that doesn’t fluctuate very much. It wouldn’t surprise me (although I don’t have the stats) if this, along with people staying here because they are in relationships with government employees and teachers (that includes profs), result in a population that has less disposable income because of high taxes, as well as a desire to be a mortgage owner. Why buy a house in Ontario if the market is so up and down, and people from Ontario always want to hire other people from Ontario given the attitude you appear to have against many eastern Canadians.
Furthermore, in the industry I work in (Metal trades) most companies won’t hire you unless you go through a job agency if your in Ontario. Companies (particularily in Ontario) are using this to their advantage by, instead of laying employees off, asks the job agency for another person and than the company can cut corners with all the lay-off while hiring rules that are supposed to be enforced by the government since the employees aren’t technically layed off from the job agency. For every Welder, Fitter, Machinist with a job there are 5 sent back who were all perfectly capable of doing the job, and were sent back usually because of one petty mistake which is seen by all the dick head foremans there as a risk or liability. Back stabbing and making others look bad is what Hamilton is all about. I’ll say it and I’ve never even been there. ALL the metal trades people say that.
…… and well girls won’t even talk to you unless you drive a car that is over $30,000, have an innovative high paying job and or are a rap star; I won’t go there because that hasn’t gone well in the past on this site…..
