A big thank you to the HRM drivers who are yielding the right of way to the buses that are trying to re-enter traffic from a bus stop. Your kindness makes the commute that much easier and faster when the bus can get back into traffic sooner rather than sitting there for several minutes with its signal light on waiting for a break. I realize that the law of drivers having to yield to transit buses signalling their intention to re-enter traffic is pretty new, but to see so many people already abiding by it makes me hopeful that come May 1st, even more people yield the love! —Unyielding Commuter

Yep. That’s me! My dad taught me to yield to the bus. He said, “see that bus there? It has more people on it than are in this car so you always give it the right away.” Since he told me that when I was sixteen, I always do that whenever it’s possible.
That being said, please let your signal blink three times before you try and get out. I’ve had a few buses cut me off because they haven’t given me any notice…otherwise, I would have gladly let them go.
