Okay I understand I have been part of the management team for only a year but when you go on vacation for more than a week and leave me to run the store for the first time for that length, a little appreciation would be great.

I have had to be at our store for almost 10 days straight now without a break. Why is it so hard to show a bit of appreciation of the hard work I’m doing? Instead you bring up the things that I can improve on. Yes, thank you, I take everything in because I do want to improve but am burnt out now. It is like nothing is ever good enough for you.

Thank God this job is only temporary and won’t be here next year. I hope you treat the person who will take my place with a bit more appreciation and thought. —Exhausted Employee

  1. Bosses like that burn out all their good employees then wonder why they can’t find anybody to work in their shitty ass store.

  2. Ah someone else has learned that being boss is not all it’s cracked up to be. Only 10 days and you’re beat. Now you have an idea why yur boss needs a vacation as he or she does it year round.

  3. if you are working for some different nationality, you will find they are more driven than your ordinary store owner. i have worked for greek, italian, german, chinese, lebonese, and other non ethnic groups. and let me tell you o.p., the germans are the worst slave drivers around. pleasant as fuck about it tho.
you have to take the good with the bad, and try to work your own rate, without burnig out.
when i worked at purdys wharf, there were times when i had to, yes had to, do other people’s jobs, because they were either too lazy, or too busy doing other shit. just be thankful, that for now, you have a job, and if it only goes til next year, fine. at least you will have the experience and/or drive to take on the next employ.
