I’m a sucker who is paying too much for ‘premium’ cable channels. For about the past month one of the features I paid for has been ‘unavailable’. It’s a feature where you practically have a library of movies and series at your fingertips.
Anyway WTF? Can’t you at least send a ‘message’ to your subscribers acknowledging the issue?
Anyway suffice it to say I’ve canceled my subscription to your lame ass company.

there ya go!
they’re all a rip off…. I haven’t had cable/sat for a few years now and don’t miss it one bit.
also, you should have a reduced payment if you pay for a service they can’t provide.
ps. if it’s sports you want, there are plenty of sports streaming channels online… and you can watch a lot of shows online at the company’s websites…
Unplug your cable box then plug it in again. Manual reset. If you had called say… 1 time, your cable company would of told you the same. Dumbass.
I have aliant digital (yeah that’s right — I LOVE my cable and have no problem paying for the premium shit, so suck it, bitches!) and the PVR in the living room sometimes freezes, or shows stations unavailable, and has to be reset. Resetting the box usually fixes all the glitches, so like hali and NW said: you should’ve tried that, or at least called the company to figure out what’s going on (you didn’t say whether you called or not, so I’m assuming like the others you didn’t call).
An unplugged TV is better for your mind
I had a similar problem with my On Demand Digital cable. Turned out it was some kind of problem with my building. They came out and installed a cable booster or something and now it’s all good. You should’ve just called OP.
My biggest qualm with the cable companies is with their hours of operation for their technicians. 9-5 Mon-Fri, and shortened hours on Saturday, with a limited number of staff working. I work 9-5 Mon-Fri, as do a lot of people. I live alone, so there’s no one there during the day to wait for them to come, so Saturday is the only day I can get service done. But of course, Saturdays are booked up weeks in advance. So when i need tech support, I have to wait 3-4 weeks.
Burn your books. Watch more tv.
C’mon guys, you don’t think people will actually pick up a phone and call to ask a question now do ya? That’s work.
What the real crime is that the companies get away with advertising a 15 MBpS service and your actual bandwidth is closer to 1 MBpS. That’s the fucking piss off.
is it 15MBps or 15Mbps, Dr. F?
I actually find aliant just as fast as eastlink ever was when I had it.
maybe he/she did call, said they cancelled subscription, right.and yes, all cable service fucks up, and satilites are no better in a snow or freezing ice storm.been there, done it all 3 times over. it’s not rocket science to know something man made or designed, will inevetively fuck up.night night.
Actually according to the ISO, it’s 15Mbit/s so it’s neither! Still just as frustrating though. I prefer Eastlink over Alaint simply because of the potential of Cable vs. DSL. Cable has the potential to allow crazy bandwidths as opposed to DSL. Not that we get that… Probably because of numbly-nutkins like our OP here, who don’t even know how to power cycle a friggin’ cable box, let alone understand they’re paying for a service they don’t get.
I’ll power cycle your cable box.
Hali, i have a problem with your statement. I have also had many problems with the digital cable box. First i called because all the DVR recordings werent working. then some channels started dropping and staying off. I DID make that first phone call, did their instructions, nothing happened. Second phone call, did their reset of the box, same conditions. So third phone call the guy said embarrassed to all heck…ummm we might have to get a new box to you…..it might cost a service fee. So it was like 90 dollars later i get the box and the “new” box still doesnt perform right. Thank goodness im not home enough to really use it, and that the channels that dropped off and stayed off were only the ones i did like to watch when im home. all the rest my wife watches without any problems.
Have you ever heard of “the Internet”? Well, if you have not, let me enlighten you. It’s this marvelous new invention, see, where you “download” television programming for no charge whatsoever. My word! What a fantastical devise. Perhaps you should look into it.
I don’t condone that in any way shape or form…. *looks innocent* I would never do something like that…..
E.Glass on the other hand is recommending it….
not me, him. anyone monitoring my packets can start checking into him/her/it now and kindly leave me alone.
