Why is it when someone commits a crime against children – they get only 6mos. to a year in prison?? Then they are let out again!!?? Should be life!!

Mandatory Pshyce evaluations for all troops, both pre and post deployment, would help (with more emphasis on keeping potentials out of the field). This guy was on his fourth tour I believe. Plenty of chances to ‘snap’… which he unfortunately did.

These “checklists” to the best of my knowledge are already in place. You cannot predict these individuals, unless you thought Minority Report was a great movie.

It doesn’t start with the guy molesting little children. First he has to learn that he is attracted to children, then comes (fully knowing it is wrong on every level) the stalking, waiting for the opportunity, kidnapping, and subsequent assault. The fucking dirt bag that commits this crime, if incarcerated on the same day, will be released 16 months before the guy that made the mistake of growing 6 weed plants instead of 5.

eats_crayons I totally agree. Chemical castration for all pedophiles and rapists. Chemical castration isn’t as horrible as it sounds anyway. It is just medication which renders you infertile and kills your sexual appetite.
Chemical castration simply removes some anatomy but doesn’t entirely take away the hormones or mental impulse triggers. The castrated sexual offender can still molest children even as a unic. It’s not a valid solution at all.
Castration, chemical or physical, may serve an atavistic need for revenge which in the case of child molesters is wholly justified but it won’t stop them. They will simply find a surrogate object to perform what they are hard-wired to do. We need to confront the ugly reality that some “machines” come off the line defective.
There is only one “cure” for these mutants, and it doesn’t involve therapy, counseling , drip drip or snip snip.

Whatacrock, it wouldn’t be that difficult. Most paraplegics don’t have motorized wheelchairs and use their arms to propel them. This usually gives them exceptional upper arm strength. Once he can get a victim within arm’s length, they can easily render them unconscious with a choke hold. How do they get a victim within arm’s length? How about a “Come sit on my lap” or any other come on to get the victim close. Being in a wheelchair or castrated doesn’t mean a sex offender is neutralized. About the only thing possible would be to lobotomize them but the bleeding hearts would veto that.
